BMW of Peabody tried to murder me...

so I brought my car in for service, my brake service light came on. I thought it was weird cause I only have 17K on my car, but I brought it in and they checked my brakes and said they were fine, reprogrammed my computer, did the battery cable recall, and did an oil change because it was just about due.

All well and good, right?

Well, the loaner I got: 2013 335xi, got a flat while driving home and it was seriously low so I didnt want to drive it back and risk damage to the wheels. I had BMW of Peabody arrange a tow and towed the car back as my car was ready to go. I was a bit annoyed but shit happens so whatever...

I drove my car home, noticed a slight noise over some bumps but didnt think much of it at the time. Sunday comes around and I take the car for a spin and there is a crazy clunky noise coming from my front passenger side wheel area. Sounded like a strut issue, but I couldnt feel it in the steering and I couldnt get it to make the noise while stopped (push down on the front end).

I popped the wheel off and the strut looked fine, not a single bolt was touched since factory. I grab the brake caliper and shake it... and it moves... a lot...

So I tighten the caliper, had about 4 full turns on the wrench... 4. full. turns...

drive around, no more noise out of the front... slight noise out of the back right though! Pop that wheel off... same thing! Caliper is loose as fuck. Only got about 2 full turns out of this one. Now the noise is gone.

This is my first experience with BMW service and let me tell you, I'm not impressed. I plan on calling BMW of Peabody to see what they can do for me to remedy this issue.

TL;DR - BMW of Peabody sabotaged my brakes, prob in an attempt to kill me...

First, glad to hear that nothing bad happened to you... I smell a lawsuit...

That's crazy! Before I started changing brakes by myself, I was afraid to do it because I might mess it up. I can't believe dealers would do such a thing.

I wonder if they'll believe your story. I would have called a tow truck right away and have it towed to a dealership so that they see what they did.

Please keep us posted on what they say and what they do for you.

I would have had it towed right back to the deal had it not been on a sunday! I also feel like they would have NEVER owned up to it if I brought it there. I feel like they would have said: we couldnt reproduce the issue and then when I got it back it would be fixed. so I'm kind of glad I figured it out.

they have been good to me....peabody location. since my injectors were on backorder and it took so long to get the job done they waived my $50 deductible, delivered my car to me in Littleton and allowed me to drive the loaner x1 to South Carolina on business.

BMW dealerships suck, you need to find and indy mechanic who actually gives a shit. My car is under warranty for another 6 months, but they are lame. They only do the bare minimum and get you out the door. I need new Rotors and and an AC recharge, who know what they are going to tell me I need when I come in. Bunch of fuckers.

Peabody did, no idea who my SA was, some old kinda grumpy dude. I'd use them again, I'd just make sure to double check their shit after haha
