iCarbon CF mirror Caps

Got these today 12/22/09 and just wanted to show people what it looked like. I'm very happy with the finish and look. The weaves are clean and I am thoroughly enjoying my purchase, especially with the care to detail in the packaging and the customer service I received. Top notch, highly recommend iCarbon hands down.

With that said, I'm under the impression that this is supposed to be an overlay and I'd just have to cover over the stock mirror caps. From the pics, the underparts aren't the greatest fit, but its damn flush where it counts. Any1 have any suggestions as to installing this? I was going to get 3M tape like I did for my spoiler, but that tape would be thick enough to endanger the flushness that it already barely matches... I could be a total retarded and be assuming these to be overlays when they could be installs, but I don't think so lol.

Just some fitment issues seen in the blurry pictures lol. i'm not fretting over that though. Just mentioning it to let people kno that its not going to perfect.

I wish it came with instructions or the adhesives for install .

I'm considering just vinyling it so its easier for me to remove when I get around to the end of my lease in less than a year. So, I guess if someone wants to buy these CF mirror caps off me, i'd definitely like a talk! Otherwise, more contemplating as to installin it or not =\.

I guess the $160 i dished out for it is fair enough?

Well price is better because it is not from BMW however the concern about removing the covers after (3m tape) and fitment.. hence why I just got the perf mirrors.. I tried another vendors overlays and not to my liking..

I am with Lazy on this one, I would much rather spend a few extra bucks for OEM fitment and quality for the mirror caps. With the new BMW Performance price reductions, all the more reason to go that route.

Also, BMW performance carbon fiber is dry carbon, icarbon is wet.

The new performance price for the mirrors are 285.00 per side. Tisher is currently selling them for 295.00 per side.

I purchased the BMW performance carbon fiber mirror caps when they were about half the current price last year.

The BMW Performance CF mirrors are not overlays...you have to remove the old covers and then install the CF ones....I don't know if iCarbon's are like that or not....

Icarbons are overlays.. no company other there produces mirror covers that have clips like the bmw ones.. I asked why and the answer is cost.. however I just got mine and I can tell you those clips shouldn't cost much since they are only 3 simple clips.. there are a few on sale used.. I would look to that option as I once again said I got a vendors overlays and the fitment no matter one looks horrible..

Mind PMing which vender the overlay covers you had? Looking at some but I'm pretty picky when it comes to fitment.
