135i Current Projects SBM 16, SBM17

Southern BM are lucky enough to have two interstate cars in our care for some fairly major work to be carried out. We will be doing this over the next 2 weeks so i thought you may like to follow along in our progress. :iono:

SBM 16 is a LeMans Blue BMW 135i that has 800kms on it, a week or so old (No bonnet insulation either..) and is receiving quite a large selection of goodies so instead of listing eveything, you will get the idea as the photos get updated, so check HERE

SBM 17 is a Sedona Red BMW 135i that is a few weeks old now with approx 2200 kilometeres on it. (No Bonnet insulation either...)this car is also recieving a lot of items, again follow by the pictures, you can view HERE

So feel free to follow along, We hope you enjoy!

super stuff mate! i have gooseflesh!! all the practice work on wayne's car is paying off - you're probably doing it all with your eye's closed by now!!

wayne a cool bag is just a bag that is made by Fendi for BMW and is studded with 2002 3-carat diamonds that are handcrafted by Indian artisans. inside the bag, among other things, you will find Altadis Behike cigars in a gold cigar box with sandalwood inlays and platinum hinges. believe me this bag is very very cool!!!

Dammit, the twin turbo gets all the fun!

Looks like a big project - can't wait to see/hear about the results.

Just back home .

Logged on to SBM only to see 37 pics of my baby. Stuff me if she isn't already in bits. The blue car belongs to a mate, most of the klicks were done from the dealership direct to Andrew's place at Southern BM. Bet you can't guess where he's from?

The cars were only delivered to SBM at 9am yesterday so Andrew has been mighty busy.

I miss her already, sort of a hollow feeling, Lizzy suggested I take the opportunity to clean out the garage but the place feels like a morgue. Have the same feeling as once being told I was runner up for a dream job...

We fly back in a couple of weeks then straight to Andrew's place for a 2 hour debrief... That should be fun...

Mike...
PS> Thanks to Way and Professor for unwittingly assisting in this development program.

The progress was very solid today, a lot was achieved on both cars. I have uploaded more photos of our work today, all hands were on deck for both cars as per our arrangement with the owners to achieve the vast amount of work in the alotted time.

In Summary,
The Sedona Red car recieved a Riss Racing Catch Can. This car has covered 2000 odd kilometres and had oil in the intake lines, the LeMans car has 800kms but had way more oil in the pipes. Me thinks those 800kms were made getting over from interstate.......ah let me say rapidly....:iono:
Anyway my point being that you dont want large amount of oil in your intercooler or piping and therfore in your turbo's and this catch can prevents it somewhat.

I also installed an Active Autowerke Active Processor Tuning kit and an O2 simulator for something else, coming real soon.

The LeMans Blue car recieved BMW Performance suspension, A BMW Performance Short shift kit and an Active Autowerke Intercooler.

As i said, big day today, good effort by all at SBM following on from yesterday when we dropped both Final Drives from the cars ready for LSD's, exhausts are off, and DP's off.

More tomorrow

Thanks
Andrew

*Cool Bag, keeps your goods cool when travelling a lot, drinks etc. BMW Genuine item, more photos, toward the end of the project.

Andrew great to see you posting the work!

Would it be fair to say the excessive oil in the Le Mans blue 135i could be due to some hard driving prior to the piston rings bedding-in fully, and hence the volume of blow by oil?

It would be interesting to see the volume of oil in the pipes of a car driven gently for 1-2k kms and then driven extremely hard.

I think your right there Aussie, Way's car had heaps of oil in it as well, i think if your going to give the car a hard time, then a catch can is a must. All the tuned cars should seriously consider this option.

I hope you guys like the updated photos, i am trying hard to get them up every night after the days work.

I think it is great that the owners from interstate can view the progress of their cars each day and i can contact me anytime with questions they may have, i am sure some of you guys appreciate it as well.

Andrew,

Very happy with progress so far. Some petrolhead mates have told me you have taken your profession (art form) to a new level.

Congratulations.

Re the Catch Can, would love to know if you have one for my Super Fund. Seems it has developed a leak of late....
