Making a dyno thread

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=916863

And I could use your help. If you have a dyno, or know of one, please post it up for all of us to share this information.

Solid thread. Good to see how consistent the gains #'s are with the 3 stage manifold.

There are actually a bunch of dynos out there, it's just time and sorting through all of it that slows me down.

I wouldn't base my entire opinion on dyno results. There is enough natural variance that at best it is a guideline.

that is true, but granted yes it will depict an overall picture of what the part does (does not do LOL) being 100% here we have all seen threads were people would swear that the part(s) is the best thing to man when in reality it just sorta (feeeels ) better...IE: BMS power box

Which I've been saying since day one.

Sti where's your dyno? Lol it's been months you been talking about this and that. Let's go let's haha. I doubt you make 300whp tho man. Maybe to the crank in another world but not to the wheels.

Who ever said to the wheels?

I'm at work 12 hours a day. Weekends are pretty busy with doing things with my fiancé and keeping up with two BMWs(eg inspection II this weekend on the ZHP). Dyno'ing is a full day affair, and I really haven't had the time.

Also didn't have my car for the last month thanks to that deer.

I'm probably going to have my car dyno'd by the end of the month. But that's assuming no hiccups with Evolve (shipping/install) and the holiday season approaching. Early January at the latest.

My car will have the following mods (I understand half of these don't do shit, but might as well be upfront):

-Evolve Stage 2
-DISA
-Euro intake w/ K&N cone w/ Cyba scoops
-BMWPE

Here's the relevancy of my post: I'm going to EAS to use their "god tier" dyno. I've heard from a lot of members here that numbers can run high. Any discrepancies I should be aware of? Any preparation needed? Would it be better to use a certain dyno over another?

EAS charges $95/3 runs, so before/after, or stock vs modded won't happen. But as the St|g's mentioned before, we've got plenty of baseline dyno's. Not sure how much different mine will be. But I'll see what I can do - I'd hate to pull that manifold again.

This will be my first time doing this, curious as to what others think. I hope to break 260 crank HP and see an actual graph of Evolve's ability to smooth the manifolds dips.

Excited to see how the evolve tune curves are compared to my AA. 3-4k rpm the motor kinda falls flat until 4.5k where it starts to pull very nicely.

Off the top of my head, I remember seeing a dyno comparison between DISA + stock tune vs DISA + AA tune. The AA tune had a nice smooth line and something like a 20 whp difference between the flat spots in mid range.

You should feel how mine pulls under 4.5k, lol!

I drove mine without the tune for about 45 minutes.. I know your pain. However, I only got a few good pulls in because of a bad coil pack causing a misfire.

The low end torque gained from the manifold makes the mid range more than acceptable. Can't forget about above 5k rpm either, that's the real fun stuff
