VO 1M Rig shots **Updated with Final Edits**
So a buddy of mine who does professional photography on the side came home for the holiday weekend. Guess what that meant... Time for some Rig shots!!
(In case any of you are wondering, it involved a SLR camera with some dark filters, 15 Ft of aluminum piping custom made for this, and some of the nastiest suction cups ive seen from Manfrotto ) He did a quick edit on his laptop so the colors are slightly off, but I cant wait for him to get home and give it a final touch up with PS. If I didnt already love my car more than ever possible, this may have tipped me over the edge! Thought I'd share this with the forum... Enjoy! If you like what you see take a minute to check out his flickr page which has other sizes of the pictures linked below. My buddy does amazing work! The end result: ***UPDATED for proper color http://www.flickr.com/photos/enjoithis/6395907259 http://www.flickr.com/photos/enjoithis/6395771653/ Last edited by firechicken99; 11-30-2011 at 09:29 PM.. |

Interesting take on rig shots - I'd typically expect to see more in the background to highlight the movement - but I like it anyway

I've done them - you need a very wide angle lens in order to get as much background as possible. If not, then you get closer shots of the car. The big thing is keeping the rig from bouncing. Believe it or not, these shots were most likely taken with the car not even running. I usually set the timer on the camera then have someone push the car on the opposite side VERY slowly and gently. A 5-8 second exposure is usually about all you need to get good blur.
