Sorry, can't read!!

We run the Dunlop star specs on our 135i as well. 255/265 combo. GREAT TIRE! Incredible grip and most importantly they wear extremely well. We've gotten more track days out of them than we could have ever expected.

Thanks, and agreed. I am considering black roundels instead, but I like staying true to the blue, even if it doesn't work perfectly color-wise. I'll think about it.

I can't wait to try them on the track myself.

cool, great pics, i am getting the dinan stage 3 suspension put on as we speak, can wait to drive it soon. Not really sure why, since I actually had a great time with the stock suspension and rfts at the track recently, did a lot of sliding around trying to burn up the rear tires...but these pics make me a lot happier about my decision already..

I lowered my car 20mm and this looks lower than that, I'd call it an inch for sure.

I guess that is what makes wheels look deceptively the biggest, long spokes and solid dark colors.

I wish they made roundels for my Volks. Changing colors will be a tough choice here, silver might look best on the wheels, but I don't think I'd want to go with silver on the hood/trunk over the Tiag.

I'm definitely keeping the blue and white roundels. I don't care if it doesn't match, I want to have the factory colors on there. I will have my matte black grille in place this week though, so I'll post another picture or two.

New pic of wheel - pre wax. I will clean and wax this weekend. We'll see if it looks any different.

wheel color

Are your Breytons black or matte grey? In your first pics, they appear black, but in this last close up it appears grey.

"matte grey Breyton GTS-R's wrapped in Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec 225/40-18 and 255/35-18"

I was looking at getting a new set of wheels, i have the BMW Performance wheels on now, and I am kinda losing that first appeal that I had for them. I am changing from the RFT's to Bridgestone Pole Position, I just ordered them today. But if I keep the 135i next year instead of changing over to an 08 M3 these are the wheels I will go with for my TiAG. They look awesome Ruffan very nice choice! Beautiful R8 in the back of picture 3 too, if that is yours...Congratulations that is an amazing addition to any driveway!!

I think the matte grey looks great on the TiAG, and I'm surprised that so many people are putting polished rims on this color. The R8 belongs to a close friend of mine, but I get to see it often at least. Here are some pics of cars that people close to me own (good friends to have around):

So true, but excluding the F430, my 135i will hold it's own against the others. It's clearly a better sports car than the M5, and I've already proven to myself that I can lap a road course faster than a new M3. The R8 would be way superior on a track, but in a straight line it's about even (until aerodynamics become a factor).

Anyway, it's fun to be able to hang around with other people who appreciate good machinery. I love my goofy little 135i.

So I'm heading down to Summit Point, WV in a couple of weeks and for some reason I can't decide whether I want to just drive down with new Breytons and Dunlops, or if I should put my stock wheels on for the 4+ hour drive down, and then swap them for the Direzzas for the track weekend.

Has anybody had any problems driving their Direzza's to the track, lapping for 2 days and then driving home? Recommendations?

I would obviously rather not carry around a full set of wheels and tires in addition to the other crap I'm bringing for the track weekend (tools, jack, etc.).

I'm not a huge fan of the grey and black breytons, but it just works on your car. I like it a lot!!! I've got a few questions for you if you don't mind. Do you know exactly how much you are lowered? Do you think you could run your rear setup on the front with a spacer and camber without rubbing? I would love to be able to run 18x8.5 wheels with 255/35 star specs on all four corners

I don't know exactly how much the car is lowered, but it's about 3/4 of an inch both front and back. I haven't heard of anybody being able to run 255 front tires. I think consensus is that 245 is the maximum width up front, and that's if you have spacers and additional negative camber. My fronts are only 225 and I have camber plates, so they don't come close to rubbing anywhere. At some point I'd like to upgrade to wider fronts because on the track the stagger is just too great to keep understeer fully at bay.
