I'm leaning heavily towards the oil burner but I see the LCI's power is up to 225kW (vs 210kW). I also see the LCI will include the N55. Aaarrghh the choices! I also heard a rumour HUD will be standard across the range.

Does anyone know when the LCI goes into production, when it can be ordered and when the first ones will get to Oz?

Last I read from the forums is that LCI goes into production in the US at the beginning of Spring. So I'm guessing that you could order 1 at the dealers at May / June and hope that you don't have a long wait.

Not too sure about the HUD being standard across the range, as BMW AU haven't released much (or any) details on the upcoming LCI X5, however on the upcoming 5 series, it will have the HUD standard across the range.

That does sound tempting!

Try ringing Auto Classic, I asked my dealer he said he's not sure, but will check and see. Will let you know if it sounds remotely accurate...

Do it now! Or wait for the new X3 that will come some time next year. But if you want 7 seats X5 it is.

I've just got some info re the X5 LCI. The first run will be April build with OZ delivery in late June or early July.

I'm just waiting for pricing, standard specs and options and I'll order the xDrive40d.

I'm looking at the Innovations Sport kit with auto tailgate, confort access, sunroof, bi-xenons, high beam assist, HUD!!

Power is up now to 225kW and (alleged) consumption down to 7.5L/100km average. Auto box is now 8 speed.

Never ever thought I'd get excited about a diesel but I actually am!!!

Nice choice! The xDrive48i really is a dinosaur left over from the E53 so you'll be glad you didn't take that road.

The twin turbo diesel is a monster! When I get to drive my dad's X6 xDrive35d on family trips it absolutely hauls ass from a standstill. I love seeing the amused expressions on fellow drivers as a huge 2 tonne behemoth leaves them behind in a cloud of (diesel) smoke.

The mid range punch is even more phenomenal. At highway speeds, drop 2 gears, and sometimes it feels more effortless than my 135i.

You definitely won't regret the xDrive40d Diesel by name, not by nature.

Good choice!

Did the dealer inform u with the estimated drive away price? Is high beam assist included in the innovations package? If not, y bother optioning it as it is not that hard flicking the indicator stalker back.

From what I have been told HBA is part of the Innovations Sport package. I have HBA in the M3 but it doesn't work around the city. I agree - just flick the stalk. Not sure on pricing but I can't see it being much more than the current 35d.
