Can you re-post a version with the pure sound?
I wish I could but we had to ride with the windows open and so most of the sound is wind noise, I'm actually surprised the tire sounds came through as well as they did.

A rock hit the windshield on the way up to the track, Friday the 13th and all

I agree and think the VO will take all the black/carbon fibre aftermarket pieces (trim, wheels etc) best of the 3.

Love Monti, but fast did you get going down the back straight, to the hard braking uphill? From the vid, it looks like you guys were just wanting to kick the back out, and not going fast at all.

How many cars were there, and did you hear of anybody getting limp mode or overheating?

BMW had us use the south course only, not only that but you had to go through the pits every lap, so there is little I (or anyone else who wrote a review this week) can say about heat soak in either the engine or the brakes.

AND yes, that was done purely for your viewing pleasure....We sacrificed ourselves for the common good

As I mentioned, the car has tons of grip and you really have to provoke them to get a slide going.

Thanks for the response, and for your blog post/review. I was hoping to hear that you guys were able to flog it for a decently long session, with no heat/limp problems being reported by anybody. Seems like BMW was being protective to not induce that.

it may also have to do with who's driving, there are some wild variations in on track experience/ability from the little i observed

Glad i ordered the navigation system. Seems a bit odd without.

Ditto that. I always thought the Nav screen on my '08 135i looked out of place when opened but I'd much rather have this "flip up" screen option versus the fixed variant found on all 2009+ 1er models.

What they REALLY need is to get Ken Block in that car with some actual slick tires n set him loose. He'll take care of it.

Im nowhere near a dry drifter myself, would NEVER spend over a grand on tires and eat em up in less than an hour of dangerous stuff like this, but I gotta say, Ken's earlier vids with his STI and the hatchback are two of my favorite car vids on youtube still. Just brilliant what that guy could do with those cars, yes they were rehearsed and tested before filming, but regardless, its awesome.

But ME, fuck that, i wanna keep my tires as long as possible while still having a blast
