Resonator HELP!!

I recently installed VRSF Catles Downpipes on my n54 135i. With n55 Mids and Berk Race Axleback. I hate how it sounds, its incredibly raspy and almost unbearable on cold start. Has anyone installed resonators on their Mid pipes before?

is it 2.25" diameter?

Vibrant 1790 ?

Maybe trade someone for n54 mids. Should take care of the rasp since it will have the cats and resonator

You could just go back to stock, or if you already sold yours I'm sure plenty of people would be willing to trade you their resonated one for your straight pipe

I just bought n55 mids 😑 I read a lot about the vibrant resonators being placed on 335i mids . I'm not sure which size I need for the n55 mids . 1790 or 1792

I have both n55 and n54 mids. I prefer not having cats on the mid section. If anyone has Instagram you can watch a video of it @135kev .

The n55 mid is already resonated, are you wanting to run 3 resonators?

I believe they are 2.25". I added them on my N55 mids also to eliminate rasp. I can double check the part number when I get home later.

FWIW, if I had to do it again I'd sell the N55 mids and purchase Berk or Maddad mids.

N54 stock DP, N55 mids, Meisterschaft Race axle back.

First I installed N55 mids with stock DP and stock axle back. The mids introduced a bad rasp under light load shifts...around 2500rpm. Then I welded Vibrant resonators into the mids and the rasp was completely eliminated. Then I installed the Meisterschaft axle back.

Cost: N55 mids around $325....Resonators $100....$100 to have them welded in.

For the same money you could buy Maddad or Berk...they would be easier to resell when the time comes. If you can sell the N55 mids locally for around $300 you would be all set.
