Tire bulge dilemna ?

Hi guys

am a bit of dilemna here.
I got my 135i used.
The dealer placed new tires RFTs on the front because the car came with non-RFT. So the front tires are 100%
The rear tires are the original RFTs bridgestones which has about 65% threadlife.

Today i discovered one of the rear tires has a small bulge. Apparently based on the threads here, bulge is not good and needs to be replaced.

I was hoping these tires would give me a few more months of use before needing to replace.

I was planning to use non-RFT like Bridgestones S-04 when the time comes needing to replace all four tires.

What should i do ?

a.) replace the 2 rear tires with RFT to match the front RFTs (as these fronts are new)?
b.) replace 2 rear tires with non-rft and leave the front RFTs as is ?
c.) replace all 4 tires with non-rft and use the rfts as temporary reserves ?
d.) wait till the rear bulge becomes worst and hope nothing happens till it wears out ?
e.) other suggestions ????

Thanks for the help.

Best C (get rid, sell RFTs buy Micheline Pilot)
Good B (you will have not that bumpy rear and stiff front)
Possible D (saves you money but keeps you worry)

I say wear them till the rears are shot. I find I get more tire wear in the rear so you will chew thru those first I bet. If you are concerned about gaining the nicer ride of non-RFT then changing just the rears won't help. You'll still get all the hard bumps thru the steering wheel.
Once you need new rears...go for 4 non- RFT. I have a set of michelin pilot super sports and they are great.

if youre tire is bubbled id replace it, its not urgent but you shouldnt tempt fate. Ditch rfts and never look back, theyre brutally harsh, i cant even imagine how bad theyd be in winter when the rubber hardens.

My dilemna is this:

the two tires front RFT are brand new.
the two rear tires rft have 6,000 kilometers in them, maybe about 50% left on the thread.
One of the rear tires have a bulge.
Do you recommend i replace that tire with the bulge with a new RFT ? or replace the two rear RFTs with new RFTs ?
Thanks!

Also...have you tried a visit to a Michelin dealer? Maybe they will pro-rate your tire and replace it for a reduced price?

Thanks for suggestion. Does not work that way here in Philippines.

I think you should replace tires in sets when possible, especially if you are going with a different tire. I personally wouldn't take my chances with a bulge. If something happens and you screw your car up or get hurt you'll be kicking yourself for being cheap and trying to save a few $$.

Yes, i ordered some Potenza S-04 front & rears but 225 / 255 configuration.
However, these will take about a month before they arrive.
So in the meantime as the bulge has not gotten worst, i will just take it easy driving these (100 kmh tops) and not take corners too fast.

Hope the bulge will hold until the new tires arrives.

Noticed a bubble on each of my front tires. General advice seems like I need to replace.

My 135 is a lease. Do I need to replace the tires through the dealer? Can I get non rft or no? Has anyone had any luck replacing the tires through warranty. Car is less than 6 months old.

Garage List
2013 BMW M3  [10.00]
2015 BMW M4  [0.00]
2013 BMW F30  [0.00]
2014 BMW F22  [0.00]

Option C or option A are what I would recommend. Do not drive for long when it has a bubble in the sidewall. It will eventually blow, so it's just a ticking time bomb.

Choose between A and C. Do not do B or D.
