Saw the listing and have been drooling! I guess I've been sleeping because I have a (relatively) stock twin of your 128i also in Washington, DC! I know the new owner is a father and son racing it over there, The new owner told me I could join them if I ever made it down there! That's a huge bummer… do you know exactly what happened?
