Damn....cranking is taking too long
For the past week it just seems every now and that it takes far too long to get going.....the engine, that is!
In the morning seems worse as the pressure is obviously leaking out overnight. If it continues for another week I'll book her in for a check-up, as I assume there'll be the corresponding errors that the pump is going. Again I'm talking about the 135i, nothing else.

Welcome, i hope you enjoy your stay at club HPFP.
After initial long cranks it usually goes down hill pretty fast........if it is the pump. BMW will do a fuel pressure test to determine and yes, you should have a code. |

Oh that is very long.
I normally press the button first before the brake pedal (clutch in manual). It is like as soon as I press to the end of the brake stroke. The car starts... Is the new fuel pump an updated version?

You'll know when it takes longer as it just doesn't "feel normal". Feels like ages, but the reality is it is probably taking barely a second longer.
I did have a limp (reduced power) about two months ago, and a ODBII scan revealed a fuel error, but the car was running fine otherwise so dismissed as once off.

13,800km. Car is July '08 build. Even driving home from work tonight a got a slightly longer start up crank. Car was sitting still for only 3.5 hours, but had been given a slight workout prior.
