128i Ride Height: Stock v Sport Package v Aftermarket
I'm searching for the official suspension 'drop' numbers of the 128i. The links provided to specific manuals/official websites is preferred. I own a 2008 128i 6SPD w/ Sport Package. Wanting a lower and more aggressive drop. Two shops stated a spring-only drop (no shock change) is safe to do. This car is not, and will not ever be used for any racing or autocross. Quick responses appreciated. Car currently in the middle of other mods. I want to take advantage of car's current state for a suspension upgrade. Please keep the subject *primarily* on drop heights, but also feel free to suggest/recommend personal experiences with doing a spring-only drop. *Currently considering H&R or Eibach* Please advise of other companies. I am looking for the specific numbers regarding: 1) Stock Height (if there is a specific benchmark) 2) Drop w/ Sport Package [from Stock Height] 3) Popular Spring drops [from Stock Height] I noticed companies list drops, but not specifically the drop starting point. By seeking the answer to this question, I am attempting to minimize the problem of obtaining springs that provide for an insignificant drop amount from current ride height provided by the manufacturer's Sport Package. Thank you for your time and assistance with this matter! ZLuxuryLife Last edited by ZLuxuryLife; 10-20-2014 at 09:25 PM.. |

From my experience and the cars around me
Stock Sport Pack is like 3cm above tire to fender - if saggy its about 2.5 cm all around - the H&R sport ( part of Koni Strt) drop it to 1.5 cm all around - on 135i the front is more dropped at least 7mm less - same can be said about Swift Spec R on the 128i about 1.5 cm all around - eibach I assume for 128i would not lower the front as much since on the 135i its an even drop
