2000km Post Break In Oil Change and M3 Convertible Loan Car
I have taken the comments and suggestions on this forum into account and for the first time am doing an oil change post break in, at 2000km. It was so damn hard to keep within the manual's recommendations. I redlined the car once at 1900km and have taken it to 5k rpm twice through this running in period. The restraint is one thing for the running in period but on-going is the engine oil takes over 20 minutes to get up to operating temperature! Have to exercise restraint for the first 20 mins of each drive too!
I have asked the technicians to comment on the state of the oil just for interest. Oh.. and how is this for a loan car?? !! I wasnt expecting it to be so comfortable but yet at the same time so focused on its road holding/handling, just incredible. |

Technicians will not be able to comment on the oil within 1000% +/- accuracy. You need some advanced analytical equipment to get that information...
Used oil analysis is the key. |

this goes against all the reviews I've read, the convertible is noted as being soft, heavy, and no where near as ridged as the hardtop

Yup, your probably right. I have no idea on these matters as you can probably infer from my statements. But nonetheless no harm in asking them.

However, that DCT feels very clumsy at low speed. (The throttle blipping though is just sensational! Awesome) Overall, I actually prefer my 135 Vert. The response is very smooth, instant, linear, no jerkiness from the gearbox, and overtaking feels faster in the 135. |
