Kicker Amp Buzz...
I've got a kickr amp in my trunk powering two subs under the front seats. However I get this extremely high-pitched buzz coming from the amp when the engine is running. Anyone had a similar problem or have any suggestions as to how to fix? Thanks!

Earthing problem ? Or maybe you need one of these suppression filters.

What is your particular setup? Include amp model, any LOC and how you wired the whole thing...

I don't know specifics as I had a pro wire it... but it's a Kickr amp (400 watts) mounted up-side down in trunk, powering two aftermarket shallow mount subs under front seats... earthquakes, I believe.
I can call the installer and get more specifics if it would help. Thanks guys |

Two things here: - if your car has the Logic7 system or the standard OEM amp sub outputs are used then a LOC of at least a 85W max should be used at the OEM amp outputs if that Kicker amp does not accept high level and high powered inputs. - if your car has the standard HiFi system and you are using the OEM HU outputs then a differential input LOC must be used if the Kicker amp does not accept low level differential inputs. |

Technic, I'll relay that to the guys at the shop. I do have the Logic 7 System. Maybe they'll have something to say about that.
wa128... Yes, Jeremey has been working on it and he has been great about troubleshooting. I was just in this morning, actually. Don't get me wrong, this shop is on top of things and has been very generous about trying to troubleshoot. Heck, even got me a sandwich last time while we walked through the set up. However, the problem is intermittent and was not around when I first had the install done so I don't fault them for sending me off with this. It's been a real b*tch to nail down. So, I'm not sure there is any easy solution short of just swapping out the amp. That said, can anyone recommend a good 300W+ amp for around $300? After we try another amp, I'll come back with more information on set up. Thanks! |

Sounds like a grounding issue and/or where if they have Metallic tint installed can cause these issues too. Happened to me in my prior car. Installing some filters can also help. Hopefully he took it back to the installer.
