Attention Turbosmart Raceport Owners

Most of you that have brought or are running a raceport need to get your spring looked at or changed.

The raceport is running a stiffer spring, not optimized for our cars.

All raceports come with a blue spring 18hg, but what I have found it can cause boost spikes on lift off or gear change which can cause slow premature turbo thrust bearing failure

I run two smaller springs pink and purple and the whole spring kit can be had for 30 dollars from turbosmart which lets the bov run ever so slightly open but makes it very responsive.

Each engine is different so your going to have to play with the spring setup

Start with the pink and purple or green by itself which can be had separately.

Takes no more than 5 min to change

Good post Marty. We're beginning to agree on things lately. I use to run the TS dual ports and would get the occasional surge and hesitation on shifts (DCT). Making sure you have the correct XXin Hg spring is vital for smooth boost transition specially during shifts.

Aren't we here to help each other, there is always going to be differences of opinion as long as we end up in the same place for the good of the community.

I personally like the TS dual ports as they are adjustable but most people think that tightening the spring will give them more boost.

Good info I had often wondered how the turbosmart BOV's were optimised for each application (You'd think they'd include the spring with the BOV)

I thought you'd be running something more discreet than the raceport?

I went with the turbosmart vee port pro which is a tad more discreet
