Akro ECU Retune Needed?

Beautiful pics!

I just had the akro installed on my own (CF tips... seeing your Ti's almost makes me regret the CF).

Out of curiosity, did you get an ECU re-flash? My installer told be it would be best to do so with the Akro exhaust in place. Not sure which what to go: ESS vs. Cobb vs.... other.

Any suggestions, anyone? (Sorry if this has already been discussed on another forum).

I would suggest you go with ESS.

I have the full Akra system, minus DPs, and went ESS at the same time as the exhaust, happy!

It's a coil-over kit ... you can adjust Back or Front the way you like it ... The hight is adjustable.

Aleks.
The 2nd image in the OP suggest that the rear is not a coil-over suspension (=damper and spring are not concentric). (I certainly have limited expertise in the terminology, so pls correct/educate me if i'm wrong)

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/attac...1&d=1324854453

Reason for exploring this that so far the most aftermarket suspensions that include springs, have a minimum drop of ~1"/2.5cm. However I'd like to keep the back at stock level, if possible without loss of travel.

What is the minimum drop VA/HA of this KW kit. How does the height adjustment work for the rear based on the solution of the image?

This might help a bit to understand how it works.

On 1M rear shocks are installed separately from the springs. This is how BMW designed it.

Front shocks and springs are a single assembly. When you installing KW V3 kit you would need to reuse the stock upper perch.

In order to adjust the rear hight you can do that by adjusting the height of the rear spring perch. You can raise it or lower it to the desirable position.

In the picture below you can see the front Spring&Shock are installed as a single assembly

Feel free to give me a call if you have more questions and i will be glad to discuss it with you.

THX, it helps confirm my understanding.

My open questions about the OP suspension setup:
- I found the minimum drop spec at
http://kw-store.com/products/complet...3-bmw-1-m.html to be 0.2"~5mm. I guess that is not too much difference with stock height
- Do you know if the V3 rear KW dampers allow to use the OEM springs (iso of the kit KW springs) this to keep the stock height at the rear axis?

Lowering Range:

- Front: 0.4"-1.5"
- Rear: 0.2"-1.2"

Not 0.2 ... It makes a difference between stock and KW.
