I can't believe....

how black my oil was, 5500 miles and my first oil change. The oil was dark as hell and looked like it needed to be replaced. I can't believe that BMW wants us to only do this every 15k miles.... I do have a tune, but still... DAMN!!!

LMAO true but still, I don't think I caused an extra 10000 miles of oil wear...

Next time try to save some oil and send it out for a blackstone oil analysis (http://www.blackstone-labs.com/)... That should tell you how your oil is really holding up. What kind of oil did you end up changing it with?

I ordered the kit from Dan@UnitedBMW, comes with everything you need. BMW 5W-30 Synthetic Oil, Filter and all necessary accessories.. (no tools).

Just for reference, you can't know how good or bad an oil is simply by the color. Turbo engines are notoriuos for having very dark oil.
I've owned a few turbo's in the past. Even after changing the oil, within a thousand miles the oil will be VERY dark/black.

Get the testing done. If you're doing your own oil it will be the best and only way to actually know if you're too soon or not.
