I can't believe....
how black my oil was, 5500 miles and my first oil change. The oil was dark as hell and looked like it needed to be replaced. I can't believe that BMW wants us to only do this every 15k miles.... I do have a tune, but still... DAMN!!!

LMAO true but still, I don't think I caused an extra 10000 miles of oil wear...

Next time try to save some oil and send it out for a blackstone oil analysis (http://www.blackstone-labs.com/)... That should tell you how your oil is really holding up. What kind of oil did you end up changing it with?

I've owned a few turbo's in the past. Even after changing the oil, within a thousand miles the oil will be VERY dark/black. Get the testing done. If you're doing your own oil it will be the best and only way to actually know if you're too soon or not. |
