When I was at the dealer they had montego blue and the other blue which looked more purple to me, anyway the sales guys were trying to get me to choose which blue I wanted to close the deal. They were driving the cars up and down the road, parking them in the sun but I didn't like the blue's and told them I didn't like them as they weren't a real blue and then some other sales guy walking past overheard me and butted in. He shows me a small sample of another blue (LeMan's) and I said "this the m5 blue right?".. yep.. SOLD! The colour wasn't even in the catalogue/brochure.

Alright so I got the car tinted yesterday and I have on the way
-matte black kidney grilles -kerscher lip -jc sportline CF diffuser -CF Mirror caps With the grilles, is it safe to just pull them out? Had a quick look and some say unscrew the shroud and undo the clips and some people say just tug on them until they come out Also one of my exhaust tips fell off, luckily someone picked it up and I got it back. How are these supposed to be secured? It looks like they are just supposed to slip on but obviously that is not very secure. |

you probably want to undo the clip instead of just tugging it out - you risk breaking your clips that way lol.
how the heck did your exhaust tips fell off! mine is sturdy as! I sense your car is going to looks similar to mine (Great minds think alike!) |

Not tips for my tips?
Got my diffuser and mirror caps yesterday. Both are ebay specials but the quality of the CF looks good. Only issue is some of the black paint on the mesh of the diffuser is flaking off, need to touch it up and install this weekend. Not sure on the mirror caps, might hold off until diffuser and lip are on and see if they fit in a bit more cohesively. Got a few questions on the ipod integration, (I have the non idrive system btw) if I have my ipod plugged in using the y cable I can't use the controls on the ipod. Is there a way to change this? The stereo has buttons for artist, album, genre etc, is there a way to get one for podcasts? Am I being dense or is there no way to pause the ipod? At this point I'm thinking the ipod integration is waste of time and I should just use the aux plug and control things on the ipod. |

to pause the ipod, you press the power button on the stereo.
I often find it easier to just find what I want on my iphone, press play and then plug it in. The interface on non idrive is shithouse.

What car park is that. Mine must be a lot tighter or something as I when I was doing it if I forced it, it felt like it was going to snap. |

You obviously have good taste
That's my work car park, private for the building. I was surprised how easy they came out. Just grabbed with two hands, put my thumbs around where the clips were and slowly but firmly pulled and worked from one side to the other. |

Good spot. It's my sister's Evoque, she got it one week before I got my car. It's a nice car. |

I'll probably rack up a few kms on it down south this weekend, so I'll have some better impressions of it for you.

Yesterday I did a Performance Driver Course at the RAC centre out by the airport. Which just means they set up some cones on the skid pan and let you have as many goes as you want.
It was really good fun even though it wasn't ideal conditions with it being 43c. But I got to know a lot more about the handling of the car, which was the idea as this is actually my first RWD car. What really surprised me was how hard it was to get sideways (I had traction control fully off). You really had to chuck it in to corner and plant your foot half way around to get the back out. And if you weren't really, really smooth (which I'm not) there is a fair bit of understeer. But the car was still quick, as I was probably fastest there and I'm not a great driver. The extreme heat was not kind to the tyres and the brakes were really impressive to begin with but the pedal did start to get pretty long. All up a fun day and will probably go back on a cooler day so I can do it while not sitting in a pool off my own sweat. |

Yeah was pretty warm as it went from 12.30 - 4pm and you have to wear long pants, long sleeve shirt and a helmet. You could have rung out my shirt by the end of it. Pretty gross.
