Maybe we'll have some cleaning days up at my place in April,if anyone is interested.

I'm interested granted my 1 was put away after a full Zaino job. But I can't wait to bring it out. It's going to feel like driving a go cart after driving the caddy

I'm interested.

We went topless all weekend. Orca needs her remote module reinstalled after she puts her sandals back on.

Gone for the week on a busines strip, came home yesterday. Booted up desktop this AM, and learned that my hard drive failed. Lost all of my music, but more importantly, all of my family and driving events pictures and video.

After researching, I found this particular Seagate Barracuda drive had firmware issues that caused most of the drives to fail. Entered "recovery" case with them, but I doubt they'll pay for recovery services.

10 years of memories.... Feeling rather crappy. I just copied this data to this new drive a month ago, thinking it was more safe there.

I'm really sorry to hear that Larry. Hopefully you can get some new shots of the family, and that this doesn't happen again...

Man that sucks. I've got a couple of USB drives that are dedicated to backups. I run a incremental every day and a full backup once a week. About every six months, I have to wipe the drive for space. This is a work thing however. If they didn't pay for the drives initially, I wouldn't have started doing this. I think you can buy a 1TB drive for about $100 now.

Thanks Guys! I already went out and bought a 2TB drive as a replacement for the failed one, and am shopping for a decent backup NAS. What's bad is that I already have a NAS for multimedia shares. Got all of our DVDs, HDDVDs, and some of our music on it (mostly my wife's and daughters music though).

Most recent PCs support mirrored drives. Just add a second 2 TB drive and configure a mirror in the BIOS.

We got stuck in traffic more than an hour on I-95 in Attleboro late Saturday night. The shredded remains of a car were against the left guard rail. There were parts and pieces spread all over the highway. The idiot drivers tried the breakdown lane, got stopped by car parts, and tried to cut into the stopped right lane. A channel 12 SUV in the breakdown lane put on his strobe lights thinking that would make a difference in stopped traffic. Someone in a nice 5-series was driving over weaving from lane to lane in the stop and go traffic. What a mess. I was really glad I was driving the 328xi with the automatic.

That would definitely work for my desktop, but not for all of the other machines on the network. I'm thinking more globally, instead of a local RAID setup.

Where are you currently?

btw, who decided the tolerance on tire sizes?? My Toyo's were 255, and my new PS2's are 255, except that the PS2's have decided to rub over bumps in the rear. Had my fenders rolled a little bit today. Helped, but not totally gone. Gonna go back for a 2nd treatment friday.

I'm back in Westfield.

I think I know someone else who is feeling that tire rubbing pain.

Setup a small Linux system with mirrored or RAID drives. You can iSCSI or Samba to share the drives on your network.
