I ran it against a a 370 from a stop to maybe 80-90. I totally botched my 2nd to 3rd shift (went to 5th accidentally, then back to 3rd) and still pulled him by 1 car length when we backed off. My 135 has Procede tune with exhaust and dual cone filters.

Why would it turn into a manual vs auto thread? Manuals have longer gears, period. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...nmission+ratio
The problem is you are comparing final drives...they are nearly the same...the manual transmission is geared lower in comparison to the auto...that's why the final drive is taller than the auto

I'm too lazy to calculate each gear from my phone, but this should help everyone understand

They are nearly the same, but they really aren't the same which is his argument. My neighbor has a MT and I have an AT and the difference is quite noticeable especially using the first 3 gears. On the MT, you get out of 1st around 45mph, 2nd around 75mph, and 3rd around 110mph. With the auto, I get out of 1st around 40mph, 2nd around 60mph, and 3rd around 100mph. So yeah, they are nearly the same, but there is no question that manuals do in fact have longer gears.

Bear in mind, I'm not arguing which one is faster or more fun or whatever, so lets not turn it into one of those like Brokenvert suggested.

My cobb S1 E82 beat an newer 2009 or 2010 Audi S4 last night. We did a few pulls from 60 to 140 and I had him every time by 3 car lengths or so. He's probably stock but it sure felt good beating an S4

Sadly, true story. That was my last car, and although it's louder and much more of a driver's car, it's not even close to as fast.

I like the video, but these things never consider the fact that the 135i can become so much faster with mild modding. That was a huge factor for me when I chose it over the Z.

Also, the 1er has back seats, better fuel economy, and cheaper insurance. I've never actually driven a 370, but I think that the 1 also feels more "balanced" than a G35/350Z.

MB SL55- half a car length to 80 (1st week I had the car and didn't use launch...bone stock...he was as surprised as I was)
Mustang GT (5th gen)- full car length to about 80
R32- smoked him
WRX- 2 car lengths to 90

And smoked too many trucks to count...they seem to want to race more than anyone.

I test drove a 370 before i bought the 135. I've never actually gotten In it with one whilst in my 1, but I can tell you at 3800 feet, the NA 370 felt balls slow compared to the turbo 135. Probably one of the reasons I liked my car more (among others).

Haha that's one of the other reasons. Styling was too overstated for me. I like the clean, more subtle look of the 135. Oh and I have somewhere to put my hockey gear!

You can add a G37 to the list, as of about an hour ago, he was quick off the line but with every gear change he was a little further behind, 3 car lenghths at 110 when I backed off
