You do realise that a 265kw engine at the crank probably only has 11psi of boost hence it is so safe that it will never blow anything, ever?

exactly why i am intrigued wayne. i want more power than stock but very safely and with the assurance that should something go wrong i can go back to the dealer with a clear conscience in that i am not asking them to fix anything for free they really ought not to.

professor, if you would spend $11k on the car plus the other god knows how much, why not just buy a faster car with all the bits and pieces? I kinda don't understand

good point kris. i don't understand myself either. my whole life is full of mind bending contradictions of purpose and unjustifiable decisions made rashly and without an iota of consideration for rationality or reason.

heheh Ok at least you recognise the madness! I've set myself a $ figure, I won't spend any more than X amount on the car.

$11k doesn't sound alot for a BMW supported performance upgrade. Remember that not so cheap JCW upgrade BM floggs for the Mini, now that is a joke.

What he really meant to say is this: Dude, I am rich. I spend $10k like you spend $100. I'll buy the more expensive car when I get bored with this, which isn't going to be long anyway. Oh and you can buy my parts cheaply when I sell the car. Not like I care anyway. lol

Wayne, spoken like a true COI

Alpine: I think that included a bit more than an ECU and a muffler, but yes, a joke.

We've heard on the Tex that it will be $145k on the road with three years free servicing! That is incredible value. Just not so sure about the image it portrays, and the fact that every EVO and Rex out there would want to race you...

True, in fact I don't think anything short of a 599 or LP640 is going to give you any problem in a race. but I just don't like the fact that they will try to race you. There are lots of young idiots in those sort of cars. This is where an Aston is great. Everyone just admires it and no one gives you trouble.

I wouldn't bother (save the red faces) and agree +++ re the Aston. When I grow up I want and Aston too

As Kenny used to say "you gotta know when to hold em and know when to fold em"

I can confirm that the car gets to 235kmh (GPS verifed) quite easily and comfortably though.
At Bathurst you'd easily hit 250km/h on the last downhill bit of Conrod before getting on the brakes for the kink right. With a tow you might even hit it a bit sooner.

I want one too but have a good friend with one and two others that do, advised that as long as its not your daily driver go for it but can be a bit impracticleas a day to day.
Said there a bit low, a bit scared of car park dings (not everyone respects an Aston) room problem and other reasons that I forget.
Still the best looking car on the market.

Agree, not a carI would use as a daily driver. 911 on the other hand would be fine, as it isn't as low or as attention grabbing. If you want some really fast as a daily driver, there are plenty of choices these days with RS6, M5, C63, E63 etc etc.

You sort of can:

Expensive and a few cars were written off last year, but the first few days are pretty much pure track day stuff.

I changed from a 911 to it, as did many others on the Porsche board I was on. But when I want to get another sports car, it will probably be back to a 911 (or GTR!).
