Gauging Interest: Depo Projector Headlights w/ Clears

UPDATE Live on our site! Check out GB section or our site for more information, or PM

Hello all,

Wanted to see what the interest was surrounding a full replacement projector headlight with clear side reflectors and xenon white angel eyes. They will use H7 Bulbs for High/Low Beams.

These are brand new items and will not be available until next month or so. So unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of these installed on a car or lighted up as of yet. Sample units are arriving in a few weeks but we wanted to see how many people might be interested in these beforehand.

Only picture we have at the moment is this...

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks guys.

hehe, and I was shopping for a set of Depo headlights for my E36....funny that they came up with one for the 1ers...

You should have no problem selling these, for those of us who want the clear corners but don't want to spend $1500+ from Germany.

I guess some good questions to ask would be the following..

For us existing owners of US Spec Adaptive Lighting headlights, is it plug and play and offer similar functionality?

How is the beam pattern?

Will it produce any error message or lighting codes in the computer?

all good questions. I'll forward these to Depo and see what they have to say about them.

Just got a response from our supplier.

They are H7 and as such, will not be adaptive. That would make the cost of these ridiculously expensive unfortunately.

Yeah the adaptive functionality is super expensive, it would not make it worth it. However, if you have halogens, these are an awesome alternative.

I would never give up my adaptive headlights for getting rid of the orange side marker. I would get these if I did not have the adaptive lights BUT, only after my warranty was up. I would also like to see if DEPO has gone to a better ballast supplier for the angel eyes.

Had DEPO's on my E36 M3 and I was very happy with them, other than the fact that I had to replace the ballast for the angel eyes several times due to them not working properly in low temperatures. Not fun!!!!

I think that limits these to 128i's who did not check off the Xenon option. I would doubt that any of us would trade Xenons for clear corners.

Would be very interested but don't want to give up HID headlights. If it were a DS2 bulb I would probably pull the trigger... I could care less if my headlight follows me through the turn, but I don't think I could give up my xenons... Although this is very tempting...

The DEPO E36 headlights never came from DEPO with the angel eyes preinstalled. Those were always done after the fact. Sounds like you got a set of CCFLs with the kit which did have ballast failure issues. DEPO supplies the base headlight, vendors typically install upgraded angel eyes and HID kits after the fact so any failures with those items would be based on where you purchased them.

We will offer H7 HID kits preinstalled for these headlights so you can get them with the xenon option. They do not need to be D2S based as we offer H7 HID kits as a direct fit, just like what we do with the Projector46s for the E46.

I would be very interested in these as I have a 128i with Halogens. This would solve my problem of wanting xenons and wanting to get rid of the orange side markers!
