Humph... I expected the 128i to be more dominant. Would be interesting to see the same comparisson with the coupes.

I'm guessing it was the weight factor. The MINI owned through the slalom. The FWD vs RWD differences werent as apparent as I thought it would be.

Thanks for the link.

I'm curious about the "Electric" steering spec. Since my '08 'vert is hydraulic, was there a change for '09?

As (IIRC) C&D managed a 6.1" 0~60 time, and BMW's usually conservative spec is 6.4", I wonder if the car was really broken in as it had less than 1,000 miles on the odometer. Or it may be that red isn't really the fastest color...

The 0-60 time of 6.7 for the 128i is slower than BMW's 6.4. But the quarter mile time seems pretty quick. The straight line performance numbers may not look a lot different but if you saw the vehicles side by side, it would be very clear who won.

Slalom is a combination of narrower car, lighter weight, and sticky tires. HP not a big factor but 700 lbs less weight to change direction and slightly stickier tires were. 65mph in the slalom seems pretty fast. I wonder how the elapsed time difference through the slalom is? It looks pretty short so I doubt it was as much time as the 0-60 difference.

Who wants a mini? not me.

the 0-60 to 6.7 is extremely underrated, the driver probably did not know how to drive his car, or it was a horrible auto. I have a step 128 no mods, and i have recorded myself doing 0-60 in 6 flat, theres a video on youtube to prove it.

I believe BMW quotes 0-60 of 6.7 for a manual vert and a 0-60 of 6.4 for the manual coupe, so Edmund's figures would be correct against the "official" BMW numbers.

Nope. 6.4 for the cabrio and 6.1 for the coupe - both MT.
