That bushing maybe?
Sure sounds easier to try than doing the CSB. And after doing both if your problem is still there, you'll know for sure.

Actually the CSB probably isn't that bad ---> http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/tech...ft_Bearing.htm

I finished putting ensolite on the DS door panel. I know that it helped calm the midrange buzz but I have not tested how much yet. If you run a sine sweep you'll notice a peak around 200Hz. That seemed to be a resonate frequency and not coming from a speaker, something vibrating in the door. Or at least that's my theory. have to run the sweep again and see if it changes.

Yeah, I've looked at both of those. However, when reading online, people say you want to really use a special tool to get the bearing on. Something that hits directly on the bearing with a dead center load. So, basically a perfectly sized pipe. Hitting it on with a hammer is likely to push it from one side on to the other side on and tilting it on and that's not really a good way to go. I've also not bought any new bolts as I wasn't away that I would probably need to do that. I could fix that with a trip to a BMW dealer here but that'd be a lot of $$$. (Probably gonna do it anyway...)

Maybe Home Depot will sell the perfectly sized pipe that fits the diameter but I am skeptical. :P

Similarly, I think I threw away my 2 and 3 pronged part pullers a long time ago because I was like, "idk when I'm ever going to use these and I have waaaaaay too many tools right now"

FML. Of course I always find a use for tools after I get rid of them. I got the tools for free so at least I wasn't wasting money... but still.

Do you guys think I will need a driveshaft rebalance? Maybe it's that my U-Joint has failed on the driveshaft and therefore that's what caused these other parts to potentially fail? I don't know if all the parts have failed. I just know I have the symptoms of them having failed. (As inspecting the driveshaft requires taking it out, essentially)

Got my new 3rd brake light installed . Put a tinted decal over it to get that 'smoked' look. Looks okay but rough around the edges. May just have the local decal shop wrap the entire thing so no red edges show.

Generally I think tinted lights are ricey, but given we have no smoked options, I can deal. It's not my brake lights or anything too (that's what blacklines are for!)

Also finally checked out my blower motor wiring. Looks fine.

Blower motor wiring?

My 3rd brake light is cracked right in the middle, but the lights work fine. No need for replacement, in my mind...

Installed smoked led side marker lights. They look good on my car as the Ver Red is pretty dark. I bought Depo's and they seem to fit snug and have a good seal.

However, they are not as bright as the originals, but, probably bright enough for the purpose.

Man I've spent too much time over at E90Post. I got that recall and the PCV heater recall mixed up.

Ha! Those E9x guys are mostly insane, BTW...

Geez, I took a look at 3rd brake lights... $85 bucks from ECS? Seriously?! That's craziness...

Oh trust me I know. I put it off for months too. Apparently the aftermarket ones (for $50 on Amazon) have fitment issues and leave a slight gap.

When swapping my 3rd brake light, I noticed the tab in the trunk was already trimmed, as was the plastic on the old light. PO definitely replaced it, but whoever did it left the bolts ridiculously tight. I sheared the stud before I got the nut off ()

For the $30 extra bucks I'll take the benefits of good fitment.

Ouch, that's not fun, but at least you sheared the stud on the way out, and not on the way in(like someone – me – did when I installed a rear sway bar)...

Well, I'm 3+ hours into this flex disc and csb change and it's a fucking nightmare.

It's not clear how I remove the rear part of the driveshaft. It doesn't have bolts on it like I thought it would. (Can't see most of the stuff because muffler+heatshield was in way before)

And now I have to jack up the transmission and undo the bracing for it so that I can get access to the flex disc.

On top of all of that, NOTHING looks severely broken. It all looks and acts normal when spinning and moving it all around.

EDIT: Got the flex disc off... totally looks fine. :| And the CSB spins like the new one. Maybe not as perfectly brand new but it's not terrible like I've seen some.
EDIT2: Disaster struck. All well. Won't be driving my car for a few days...

Day went from promising to absolutely nightmare. Ended up not going to work and spent all day working on the car. Didn’t even fix the problem. Made it worse. :’(

For the first time in five or six years, I’ll be taking a car to a mechanic because I’m not able to fix the problem. Sad times.

Just for those who don't know: NEVER TRY TO REPLACE THE INNER BEARING THAT GETS STUCK INSIDE THE FRONT END OF THE DRIVESHAFT. WORST IDEA EVER.

It all went to shit when I tried to remove that thing. God have mercy on the mechanic who tries.

TridenTBoy Sorry to hear about your misfortunes. I'm not looking forward to having to do this in the distant future...

Anyways...
I received a new half shaft on the porch yesterday at about 21:00. Now I know that my passenger side one is bad, and it shouldn't have as much play as it does. I believe I have finally found my noise! I'll be pulling everything off this weekend and replacing the axle and the wheel bearing, and then I'll hopefully be rid of my noise!

Generally I think tinted lights are ricey, but given we have no smoked options, I can deal. It's not my brake lights or anything too (that's what blacklines are for!)

Also finally checked out my blower motor wiring. Looks fine.

Mine was the same way until one day I get out of my car and see that it finally snapped in half and was hanging on by the rubber seal. Had to trim the trunk and replace with a new one (cost like 30 bucks). Now it doesn't light up but it doesn't throw any codes and I don't care enough to look at it again

Only reason I even did it was because BavAuto suggested it in one of their articles. They're like, "If you're replacing the flex disc then replace this inner bearing too!" Called a mechanic here that I'm taking the car to and he's like, "What, why did you try to replace that? I've never seen that part fail and we never replace it."

Nope. I have to take it to a mechanic on Monday and they're going to try to resolve it. I had to push it onto the street so that it can get towed there. Driveshaft isn't connected to the transmission but is connected to the rear end. Gave some horrible sounds as we moved the car.

Adapters.. we can't fit paddle shifters on our cars from what I had read.

These adapters allow to use M3 paddles on a 135i

Managed to give it a quick vacuum, which focused on the trunk after I had washed and vac'd my two other cars. It's not easy maintaining a fleet
