Much depends on how well they work, how easy to take them off, and what they look like.

^^ i barely notice them at that angle. They blend in super nice in that picture. GL Besides, there is already the black and white thing going on anyways with the tires and the AW body so it'll just accentuate your car's color and body more IMO.

Alright, I just put on the mudflaps. Took me awhile cuz I had a hard time debating if I really wanted to jack up the car (which I ended up doing). They're great however the red gel tape on the inside started creeping out the edge on one front right flap so be careful when you guys put on the flaps with the tape. Otherwise, they're great :biggrin:

I've found an alternative solution:





all joking aside, I've never been a fan of mudflaps, as I feel their placement completely negates their purpose in the first place. They are there to prevent some dirt from being kicked up onto the car, which makes the car look bad? Yet, the mudflaps themselves were not part of the designers "vision" and completely ruin the cars lines and flow IMO.

If you like em, more power to ya. I'd rather just wash the car more often.

Didn't realize you could wash paint chips off, no matter how many times you wash it....

Yes - that was my motivation - not having dirt being thrown up is ok - as I wash my car regularly. My concern was over time do sand and small rocks chip the paint? The Splash Guards from BMW are just right - not too large to be offensive, but will definitely keep most of the pant wear odd the rocker panels and rear fenders.

There are clear mudlfaps similar to the clear bra concept...same materials. Anyone have these? Im thinking about getting them.

Those will look better but you gotta consider what the clear bra usually does when a rock hits it. It will knock a hole out of the material and will slowly wear away until you rip it off. If you put that material at a place where rocks are suppose to normally go, you're just asking for trouble and replacement material IMO.

Makes sense...I did get the clear bra for my 1 and have done a great deal of highway driving and go through a lot of construction on my daily drive to work. So far no issues and it also comes with a lifetime warranty. I guess not matter what there will be some + and -.

I had mud flaps on my E-46 and Every now and again I would back up too much into a parking spot and I would clip the mud flaps right off of the fender..... That was me the 1st time it happened!! LOL

I finally just accepted the fact that I fudged up and just re-attached them!!

I'm not sure I'll do flaps on the 1'er tho!!

I think they do look great with the white, so maybe almost as good with the Titanium silver i will be getting, I live in PA and go to school in Erie, where you wake up some mornings with 2 feet of snow, good thing my baby will be in the garage at home all winter as for regular driving i think i should be good though right?

I got my dealer to include them install and all as part of my deal along with some other accessories.

Silver and Terra with dark tint and the black shadow line on the 2009 135i coupe and these black mud guards should contrast well and provide some protection.

If I lived in an area that creates a lot of build up, like snow slush, I MIGHT consider it. I just can't stand mud flaps on it.

I had some 3M film laying around from when I did my fogs on the M3 so used that to make a "mud flap" protection on the side skirt. Need to get some more to do the rear.
