Mine gets here in a week and it's pretty bare bones. I'm kinda regretting not getting the sports package, but have found someone selling their sport seats so will probably put those in and may even consider finding the M wheel somewhere too, so I'll get a pseudo piece-meal sports package, only retaining the chrome instead of shadowline.

My only options are SGM color and sport package. I keep checking the BMW owner's circle-awaiting transport for two weeks. How long does it take to get on a ship anyway????

well the 135 bare bones has a lot of optional 128 parts... so that doesn't make it seem so bare bones.... the xenons are a nice addition as is the sport susp. and extra power.

But has anyone bought complete bare bones? I mean no sport pack, no Ipod, nothing? I think thats a pretty rare occasion. Maybe for someone who will turn it into a dedicated track car.

All I got was the iPod. Sport seats are uncomforable, I dont like leather and power seats are useless for a car that will only be driven by me.

Technically in Canada I only really took the sport pack(18's-anthracite headliner,SPORTS SEATS), the sunroof I was forced into it.....we dont have option like cold wheater(standard). I consider it barebone. I know a few guys in the Canadian section of this forum did order without the roof.

This option is a must and it should just be a standard feature in 2008. CDs are in a slow, but certain and permanent decline as the media choice for home and in-car music. In fact, I wish they'd offer a no-cost swap option to get rid of the CD player and only have iPod/USB. I'll never use the the CD player.

SP and auto only. Anything else is totally unnecessary. BTW...the auto was a concession to the hellish commute traffic we have in Atlanta.

bear bones is great if you going to mod the hell out of it and make it into even more of a racer.

I went the opposite route and pretty much maxed mine out. The only things I didn't get were active steering (on advice from CA), audio options (I did get iPod) and the park distance control. I actually intended to get the parking sensor, but I forgot about it when I place my order and when I realized I had forgot it I didn't think it was worth the hassle to have it changed. (I don't back into spaces much anyway)

yeah i honestly dislike the majority of them, too much unnecessary foo-foo crap (although i admit part of me feels silly getting a bmw and not having such things as electric seats and a fancy pop up digital screen - at least thats what i imagine my girlfriends thinking). sport package and premium stereo are where its at though. the "rock out with your cock out" package combo

For the amount of money they are charging for the premium sound, I could do better in the after market. And the sport seats are highly uncomfortable, at least to me.
