The 1 series for me is a daily run-about.

If there was no 1 series then I'd have a Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works.

Similar price similar performance compared to a 128i.

If there was no 1, I would have continued trying to decide on one of the following (had been mulling over what I really wanted for a year):

911
Boxter S
M3
335
Exige (although eliminated pretty quickly on comfort)
Maybe something exotic in a slightly used condition.
Really just wanted something fun to drive, preferably vert, regardless of price. The 1 is a really fantastic value!
