Poll- Have You Had to Replace Your Fuel Pump in Your 135?

So, I'd like to do an anecdotal poll on the number of people who have had to replace their fuel pump in their 135. In the thread about 128 vs. a Mini JCW, I said I was inclined to pass on the 135 because such a large percentage of 135 owners (at least in my perception) have had to replace the fuel pumps.

So, how about a yes or no, but if you have had to replace the fuel pump could you tell us how many times and what was the mileage?

once at ~36k miles as part of the recall... there's no poll option here, and even if there was, I doubt you'd get a realistic response. Fuel pump failures were all the talk before I bought my 135i about a year ago and I haven't heard much since. The problem seems to have been largely resolved.

Yeah, I hear you. Really all I'm trying to do is get a sense of how widespread the issue is, and how severe it is.

Its covered under warranty for 10 years/100k miles so I don't see the big deal if it goes out.

The car can (and often does) stop running completely, leaving you stranded in the middle of the freeway in rush hour traffic, (There are a couple of people on this forum that have had that happen) or wherever. That seems like kind of a big deal.

I am the second owner of my 1er.
2 x hpfp replaced
1. Around 15k miles
2. Around 24,000 miles
I had the second hpfp replaced. Symptoms were: long cranks CEL/MIL light stayed on. No reduced power and once the car warmed up for 30 seconds it acted normal.

Car has not been any trouble though.
I bought it at 23,000 miles. Luckily for me the second hpfp was under recall anyway so they replaced it without fidgeting.

How many miles have you had the car since you replaced the fuel pump?

No. You won't have problems with a 128i. The problem only existed in 135i as far as I know.

Bought the car around July so I havent put much more mileage on the car. Currently, it is just shy of 25,000 miles. So about 1000 miles.
Running like a champ, though!

had it switched out 2x. once around 2500 miles another at 4000 miles. Im at 15,000 miles now and no issues.

i was without a car for a total of 2 days. An inconvenience yes, but not a reason to downgrade to the 128i.

Has anyone even documented a single example of a 2011/2012 N55 engine with an HPFP failure? (I think we discussed a couple of 2010 engines but that was pre-recall.)
