BMW Performance Parts

I am probably going to be doing the Version 1 power kit in the next couple of months on my 2011 135i and am considering doing the BMW performance suspension soon after but I was wondering if anyone who has had i does could tell me if it is worth the price?

Basically its BMW performance suspension or nothing to avoid any warranty issues so is it worth it?

Abirhamer.

Not a 135i owner yet. Currently have a highly modified MINI that I have never got any grief during the warranty period

I've heard a couple warranty horror stories but for the most part MINI and BMW dealerships are OK on bolt on types of mods as long as you are not messing with the engine

Have you gotten a different message from your dealer?

Check the suspension forum, it's been thoroughly reviewed.

I've heard that it depends who's your service rep is but still for resale and all I'd rather keep it fully under warranty.

BMW Performance Suspension = best mod from the performance line for the 135i. You won't regret it.

I would say so, considering everything else is cosmetic.

+1!

I did a fair amount of re(search)ing the same question before I ordered my car, and every day I'm *very* glad I got the BMWPS.

I think more than one person has summed it up nicely as:

1. it's an excellent balance of comfort and performance
(my daughter, wife, and 71 year old mom are all happy to ride in my car)

2. it's how the M-Sport package should have come
(I will say, I was a bit disappointed by the sport suspension, coming from Honda/Acura all my life & having heard such high praise of BMW handling)

I drove S2000s for 6 years, so I was accustomed to really good handling. Of course, the BMWPS doesn't make the 135 handle like an S2000, and I'm sure other suspension setups can get closer, but it's pretty darned good! I think it makes the handling perfect for reasonably sporty/aggressive driving. I recall reading that some consider it a bit less than ideal for frequent autox, but it's huge fun on the street & backroads.

A big reason I went with it is I wanted better than stock sport, but didn't want to void my warranty. I'd do it again, and it makes me smile every time I drive the car. (I can't wait to see how it is when I have non-RFTs on the car!)

Does anyone have experience with the BMW Performance Suspension on a Convertible?

The BMW Website doesn't show it applicable if you select a 2010 135i Convertible (what I have), but it is available if I change to a Coupe.

I was hoping to get the Suspension, Exhaust and the Tune at the same time, keeping my wonderful warranty while I was at it...

Thanks for all the help everyone. I think that I've decided for now to go with the version 1 power kit and then later on probably in a couple of moths do the suspension but this defiantly helped me decide that it is exactly what I want.
