I have heard a rumor that you can't do ED because some of the "is" parts are installed at the VDC when the car arrives.
But no more production on the car anymore? I guess if I were you I'd call more dealers and get the car I wanted versus a vacation, but on the other hand, the M-sport is not that different. If you have to have the "is" stuff, it can all be added later but for more $.

Yeah, I'd suspected the same thing and perhaps as the IS is a North America only model it makes sense. I do question why BMW publishes a ED configuration guide and price list though.
Whatever the reason, I'm done with it. As you may remember from our previous posts on another thread, this is my wife's car and I'm only the means to the end. The extended Euro trip plans are largley in place for the early spring and now my wife is happy. That means more to me than a few extra horsepower we really don't need and a few pieces of trim.

Thanks much! I'm sure we will.
My wife got her way with the turbo power she is so taken with over the N/A I believed would be fine for her...only the Police will make the final judgement on that! My only consolation is that she will also be getting the somewhat better brakes in the package. BTW, I asked if the PPK 2 kit was available as a factory installed option but so far, no reply. If it isn't, that's more evidence that the "is" equipment is added to a "green" 135 once it arrives on this side of the Atlantic. You'll probably be pleased to know that as long as Crimson is no longer available she went with the Space Gray....Black interior though. I suggested the Coral but she just couldn't warm up to it.....she perfers sheepskin inserts that would cover that part anyway. Happy New Year

Yes I believe you can opt to have the PPK or the exhaust installed when it is delivered to the VDC.
Space/black is awesome. There were many moments while awaiting the delivery of my car that CR made me nervous and I would wish I ordered black. Now that it's here, though, it's amazing - glad I took the leap.

I ordered Deep Sea Blue with manual transmission, the CA looked but as I expected there weren't any of those at any dealership currently. After reading this thread and some other 047 status code threads last night, I emailed my CA asking some questions. He emailed back this morning saying they had emailed the "BMW distribution and allocation center" to confirm that I would get my order. So we'll see what happens - I'll post here with any further info I receive. I should have educated myself on the ordering process beforehand, I would have asked a lot more questions at the dealer when the Vehicle Inquiry Report came up with code 047 and no production number. You're still free to cancel that order if you find a dealership with an allocation if you want your car in 6-10 weeks from now versus May.

My CA forwarded me an email from the BMW center new car manager with an updated Vehicle Inquiry Report showing a production number and a 112 order status code. Called the 800 number and the automated status it says it is "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date yet". Spoke to a customer rep and they said the status showed that the production number had been assigned to a "daily production pack", but he was not able to tell me what the production date would be.
The CA email said that they were able to advance production approximately 3 weeks, which would place delivery in mid to late April (based on the early May date I was given originally). I'm hoping that since I now have a production number that I may be seeing it sooner than that, but I guess I'll have to keep checking the 800 number to see when the status changes to give me a production date. From reading some other threads, it appears that now with a valid production number, status 112 and priority 1, I can pretty much count on getting the car eventually! Feb 9th update: vehicle at Bremerhaven awaiting a ship. Online OC was stuck at "Processing Order" with vehicle added using the production number, but when I added the vehicle using the partial VIN it updated to "Production Ends" with the correct colors/options.
