Major Overhaul

Okay so I recently got into looking at Mods for 128i BMW... Yah. Now I have the itch to make my car look really sweet. I need everyone's help in determining the best parts for my car.

Current setup is 128i stock (alpine white) stock all with exception of black window tint (recently added)

What I am looking for:

1) Angel HID Light fixtures to replace Halogen stock normal lights.
2) Side Performance Skirts (specifically OEM versions)
3) Rear CF spoiler
4) Rear bumper like the M
5) Any other suggestions (rims, etc..)

Basically an OEM Aero Kit...

I will post pics once I purchase everything! I just need help in finding the right fitting parts/reliable parts!

I'd recommend wheels (CSL style works well with your setup) and a drop as well. The car will look off on stock wheels and suspension with those aggressive mods.

Thanks! However I do have the stock wheels with Runflats... will those CSL rims work with those types of tire?

If you have 18s, you can install the stock RFTs on a set of 18" CSLs however I'd get rid of the RFTs. They are terrible performers and ride fairly firm for a factory tire.

I actually like my runflats when I had them. Plus they do serve a purpose. Perf skirts, and bumper/spoiler. Whatever you end up getting, I would get it all at the same time and have it all painted at the same time to avoid any mismatch. BTW, the Perf bumper really makes the car stand out! You won't regret it. Some eyelids is a subtle mod that I really liked. The EAS module for the blink alarm and auto window opening and closing is sweet too.

Another nice one would be the iCarbon Hood but they are not the best when it comes to having stuff in stock.

I was looking at BMW's Aero Kit. Which includes front bumper/performance skirts/ (what I believe to be a back bumper with a black diffuser???) correct me if I am wrong.

OEM on this guy runs 1500$ not installed...

I was also looking over at iCArbon for back spoiler, but fell across this site for OEM products for cheap. Rear Spoiler
Any thoughts about better pricing?

hmmm I had to buy it separately. Maybe its diff now, but the aero kit refer to primarily the front bumper. Again I think each part if sold separately. I doubt the 1500 included all those above.

The Kit

Now that 1500$ tag is "primed" not painted AND not installed... add about 500$ more

Alpine hid all the way

Icarbon diffuser and spoiler

Mirror caps and lip if you feel the need/have the means.

They give discounts for package deals too so get it all! Their quality is easily on par with oem too.

I love my alpine HID's, but considering you have halogens, that's not an option. However, there's a few nice threads about depos that you can easily find here on the forum

BMW is pretty much the only viable option for side skirts. They're like 400something bucks to buy, plus extra to install and paint. Contact Dan@United and he can probably hook you up with the best price for the parts, but it's up to your local BMW dealership or body shop to do the painting and installing.

The aero kit (on the 135i) includes the performance front bumper, required air ducts for the bumper, and the side skirts, all for one price.

For the 128i it also includes the "Rear Basic Kit-Primed(PN: 51 12 0 442 896)" which basically changes the 128i rear to match the 135i rear and have that diffuser. I don't think it's anything beyond that, because if it was, there would be no reason not to offer it on the 135i.

Regardless, you won't even have a diffuser without this kit, and upgrading the front bumper of the 128i is a great way to make it more aggressive, which is what you're aiming for from what I gather. You can even order the 135i bumper (M-Tech? I think that's what its technically called) for the 128i, I've seen it done. It's cheaper than the performance (tii) bumper you get in the aerodynamic kit.

The icarbon diffuser would probably be money better spent, BUT 128i bumpers without the "Rear Basic Kit" don't have a diffuser or cutout, so you'd have to cut your bumper to install it...

As for spoilers, GO WITH TRUSTED BRANDS. I bought mine from an unreputable source. It started yellowing within a year and the clearcoat started getting messed up within 18 months. Go with trusted vendors like BMW, JLevi, DTMrack, Vivid Racing, iCarbon, etc (it's easy to tell which ones people like/trust on this forum, just look at the sales sections and vendor review section) and don't be afraid to PM them for help or anything at all. If you buy through a PM on here, you'll often get better rates than on their websites.

Oh yes, and rims. Buy nice ones. I have Breyton GTS-R's for the summer, and they look pretty awesome. For the winter I switch to 17" BMW alloy rims and they really look out of place, especially with all the recent cosmetic mods on my car..

Thanks a lot! Great post speedbike. I might try to keep it under 2000... which limits me to only getting the side skirts, DEPO Angels, rear spoiler. Do they sell just the performance rear bumper with the black diffuser? Or would it be cheaper to grab the entire kit together rather than separately? I really would only like the skirts/rear bumper, but if its cheaper to get everything I might do that.

Does the Aero kit have the black diffuser back bumper like the M?

While the side skirts are expensive, the stock diffuser is 75-80 bucks at MOST. The problem is that the new rear bumper you have to get in order to fit that diffuser in is almost 500 bucks (and actually 508 bucks if you have park distance control)... unless you cut your stock one, but it might not be much cheaper to get it professionally and nicely cut to specifically fit the diffuser... but...

http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...81&hg=51&fg=17

those are all the parts you'd need (including part numbers so you can tell your dealership), so add up the total cost and that's what you'd be paying for parts NOT including painting and installation costs.

I'm not sure. By black do you mean like the stock grayish diffuser on the 135i? Or like completely black / "shadowline" like here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=464677

Because by default I'm not sure the kit includes the shadowline version, but I'm sure it can be custom ordered (as with most anything from BMW) with the shadowline black. It will be more expensive though..

Im currently in the process of adding it all up. 1400$ ish dollars for the allotted kit primed. I have a 3rd party company that specializes in painting BMWs so ill probably end up installing myself. Save me the extra cash for other mods.

The color of the stock 135i rear is gray? I wouldn't mind gray but black would be nice.

Other than that I am also looking into CF rear lip spoiler which goes for at least 300 OEM...
