Cruise control

Had my car now for about 500 miles and I still love everything about it. Just wonder about this one thing that seems a little odd... The cruise control paddle on my car is different from my wife's X6. The X6 has the toggle +/- to increase and decrease by 1 mph. But, it also has a "click-thru" that will take you up/down to the next multiple of 5 mph or increase/decrease by 5 mph, if you're already set at a multiple of 5 mph. The control looks identical. It just seems odd to build a different cruise control, just for the 1 series that skips this feature. (Wife had a 328i loaner and it had the "click-thru" too.) Maybe it does cost slightly less, but it just seems like designing one this control different, would have cost more up front and later to maintain two different components. No real complaint here, just curious about other folks thoughts on this or if you know of similar things like this between models.

What's cruise control?

One thing I liked about the 3's cruise control (at least coupe the loaner I had) was the little marker on the outside of the speedo that moved up to the set speed when you activated the CC. Not a big deal, just a classy little touch.

Also, the CC on my E91 has the small guide on the outside of the speedometer so that you can see at a glance where it is set - I suspect your X6 has it as well.

Just to let us know our money for a "premium" model was well-spent, perhaps!

If you just toggle the control you get 1 mph increments. If you toggle and hold you get a 5 mph increment.

I wonder IF this can be upgraded via a software upload like that guys does in Poland!?!? I forget his name on this list. But he can upload the digital speedo from the M3 on our (middle) instrument pannel. Anyone know about it?

Hmmm... Thought I tried that and it just auto-incremented by one... I'll give it a try on the way home tonight.

Yeah our e92 cruise works the same as the X6, but that feature isn't on the 1er... I found that out the hard way, lol.
