Third tail light

Hey everybody,
My third tail light cracked and i was wondering does anybody have a Do it yourself instructions to replace the trunk light?

I did take it to the dealer at first they said they would replace it under warranty but since i had some repairs done to my trunk due to somebody rear-ending me, they have told me the warranty is void.

Would somebody please post a DIY for the third tail light and as well if you know which parts i would need to replace it?

Purchase replacement 3rd stoplight fixture from Tisher - part number 63257164978 (or some other reputable BMW parts supplier). Remove trunk lid liner from behind light fixture. Remove and replace light fixture. Here is the REALOEM diagram for reference.

I've seen it listed from $30 some dollars to $120 dollars. In any case, big savings over $400!

This is a known defect - they should be replacing it, irregardless of your accident, unless they can show specifically how the repair caused the crack.
