I did read your post about eurocharged, however this is the first I have heard of this eurocharged tune. I got the Jb3 over 6 months ago, so in my time line I wasn't going to wait.

Also I am at a elevation of 5800 feet so I wan't to be sure a flash tune has been tested to work in my conditions. Terry at JB tuning was willing to take the time to make some adjustments and be sure my car is running good at this altitude.

I came from subarus and did a lot of flash tunes (dyno protunes, road tunes, E-tunes, self tunes, etc). In the end I believe a flash tune is the way to go it just isn't as compatible or accesible at this point for the N55.

Ok just your original post sounded like you might have just gotten the jb3 and wanted to switch to a flash or maybe just about to buy it.

I can promise you if you contact them they will give you all the specifics for your area. Jerry is probably the best guy to talk to about that. They are the best guys out there man so if you're serious about wanting a flash, shoot them an email or call and tell um I sent you. It'll be worth your while.

Plus they travel a crap load so they could easily be near you sometime soon. Always jet setting for tuning days.

those are pretty good numbers for stage II, what kind of PSI of boost are you pushing?

yep, you can expect about 10% drivetrain loss standard - 15-20% on AWD

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm new to all this - what does a tune do to your gas mileage?

I can't speak for any other tunes but I have seen a 2-3 mpg boost after getting the Eurocharged tune put on. Now that being said I want to drive it harder so I'm probably getting WORSE mileage because I'm always flooring it but highway cruising you will easily see it go up and maybe a mpg in the city as well.

thank you, if i 've posted this dyno, it's because i don't know what to think about it in terms of figures. The car is really fast and the torque amazing : that's for the good news. Also the boost is (i think) really low for the power, shiftech (the tuner) told me that the original boost is 550g (7,8 psi) and he added only 200g (2.8 psi).

Previously i had a very promising stage 1 (flash tune only) and we thought that with the fmic + dp we would easily break the 400 hp. But the tuner told me that it seems the oem turbo is at its maximum : as you can see on the hp graph on my dyno, when 5000 rpm is passed, the hp drop slowly.
I was the first, they will try with other cars to see if it's the same.

To answer to shockin330i in my case the flash tune was not done by the obdII, but directly on the ecu (we had to take off the inlet manifold each time)

That's only around 6% though.. Would of thought that 362 ATW would equate to around 400 @ the fly/crank? No?

I have been looking for upgrades/mods for my 2011 135i, but like you guys said not much out there. I am currently running a AFE drop in filter, JB stage 1and burger 10mm front and 12mm rear wheel spacers. For you guys out there on a budget and looking for a nice tune for their n55 the JB stage 1 was very easy to install, inexpensive with very very good results, the car now feels the way it should have from the factory could not imagine driving without this mod. Looking to install a 1 inch lowering kit and a larger FMIC anyone out there know where I can find these items?

Anyone running catless down pipes on their n55 135i? I ran a catless down pipe on my old subbie and felt like my low end suffered alot with this mod, but a 70 mph punch you could feel it, question! does the catless DP kill your low end grunt and improve your high end

to make sure everyone knows and ammend my statements a little bit, both times I've been flashed were via OBDII port. NEVER have I had to remove the ECU cover or anything of that sort. Jake's (an owner) mygenius flashing tool was used once and the other was done via Jerry's (another owner) laptop.

There remains some confusion for the moment around this flashing method issue. Being very interested in getting a flash, I contacted Eurocharged and spoke directly with Jerry. He told me that presently the MyGenius handheld programmer does not work on the N55, as the new engine uses safeguards that the N54 did not. In fact, he told me that it is precisely this issue that is holding all of the flash tuners back right now even though no one is coming right out and saying it - while flashing is possible, not through the OBD port with a handheld flashing device. What he did say is they have another device that sits between the MyGenius and the ECU that allows them to do it, but this device is prohibitively expensive so it's not a solution for the enthusiast market and they use it to "bench" flash. Where there is still some confusion is between the fact that UdubBadger apparently got flashed through the OBD port (by Jerry and Jake at Eurocharged) and I was told (by Mike at Eurocharged Canada) that my ECU has to come out, even though they will be using this device between the MyGenius and the ECU. I am going ahead with this tune over the next week (just need to set up the appointment) so I will get further clarification and report back.

I will talk to Jake and Jerry and see what they say about how mine was actually done to make sure I'm not mistaken but I know the hood was never even popped let alone the ECU taken out.
