My dad recently got Posi Quiet Ceramic pads for his GTI. He's very happy! Good bite, much less dust than standard VAG (almost worse than BMW) pads.

But you clearly don't plan to do any track days, so these would be fine. Plus, the drills reduce weight, which means you get maybe a thousandth of a second faster on your 1/4 ET...

fcpeuro has the rear performance rotors too-- https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...5i-34216795754

Since you don't plan on tracking the car, I think you'll be fine with some OEM BMW "regular" rotors, which are obviously cheaper, but not chinese, like the ones in your first link

Take a step back to the history classes we all slept through. China was a world leader in metallurgy for centuries. The craftsmanship was second to none. while I am not a fan of a lot of the craptastic stuff coming from China, I think their history with metals is good enough for a lump of steel.

As for pads, I'm running the OEM pads for the F30 335i calipers I have. They work surprisingly well on-track, are quiet and bite-y on the street, but the dust levels are stupid, and you'll probably only get two weekends out of them. (Based on wear in 15-degree weather...)

My next set is likely to be Cool Carbon S/T Plus'. I've read some really positive reviews, all complementing their low dust levels, strong initial bite, and excellent fade resistance (compared to OE). Everyone seems to love Cool Carbons...
Are the stoptechs heavier than stock? a lot heavier? Read nothing but good things about them on daily and tracked cars, especially with their pads.

Now, I was replacing tiny 128i rotors with GIGANTIC 335i rotors, so your experience may differ. The OE f30 ones are technically two-piece, with a traditional Iron friction surface with aluminum hats. I think the standard 135i rotors are the same make-up. The stoptechs don't have the aluminum hat, which is the biggest reason why they're cheaper than the OE ones.

But I do agree with you. Upgrade in order - suspension, brakes, driver, power, repeat.

My upgrade order was always driver first, so that's why my car is still stock -- still haven't reached the limits of the car at Lime Rock, despite a best time of 1:08 on runflats.
