Euro software updates and business nav

I had this posted in another thread, but didn't get a reply. I fear it may have been lost.

So anyway, here it is in its own thread... I've also edited it a bit to make what I'm asking a bit clearer.

Are there differences with the CIP fixes for NA and Europe? I ask because the bmwtis.com site seems NA specific (meaning only petrol models and pro nav). Does anyone have a list of fixes for business nav or diesel E90's? Has anyone with the above had a recent software update? If so, what changes have you noticed?

Hello, my car had the software update when it came out the body shop a few weeks back.

I have noticed a sharper throttle response, other than that nothing to report.

Thanks for the reply. Was it CIP 19 they put on? Did you specifically ask for it or was it done as part of the work they did?

i think that if you do a search for software upgrades, including cip 19.xxxx, you will find a lot of info that should assist you.

i have not required and software upgrades in my car yet but it doesn't mean that there aren't any for my car.

All is well so i don't touch it. hope this helps you.

I agree that there is a lot of information, but nothing I could find relates to business nav or diesel engined vehicles. All the information I could find relates to the petrol models and pro nav or for vehicles not equipped with iDrive. If what I've read elsewhere is true, business nav runs on completely different hardware than pro nav (M-ASK as opposed to CCC??), and of course the diesel engine systems are also completely different from their petrol counterparts. Hence my question.

Did you pay for the software update? My dealer informs me that any "non-essential" updates are at cost to myself

Free. I'd imagine that whenever the car is at the dealer for a service or extended period (my car was off the road for 10-days while being repaired) they will apply any update.

Perhaps some dealers are more amenable than others; the dealers around my neck of the woods are all excellent.
