I put these in couple of weeks ago and they light up like couple of bright flashlights.
Although they blink when you start up the car, I am happy with them http://www.ebay.ca/itm/321385493460?...84.m1497.l2648 If you dont want them to blink when you start the car, you would need to install a load resistor. (search up "T10 Load Resistor") |

Ok thanks. I got some resistors which i didnt have to use when i ordered my led clear corner bulbs from the same seller on ebay. I'll post pic's but i think they should work. The ones in the link i copied are 50w though.

Haven't found a bulb like this yet that didn't end up crapping out in a few months. One at a time the individual LED's start to blink non stop then die out altogether. Once enough of them go I replace the bulb. repeat and repeat. I'm about done w/ it.
The bulbs you linked may be fine, but don't expect them to last. |

I ended up going back to incandescent bulbs because the canbus brake lights kept failing. They were very reputable with heatsink, etc. Never tried reverse lights. You use them so little who cares?

I have blacklines and use the led reverse lights and they are great. Much brighter than halogens.
Can't comment on their longevity since I'm still on my first pair. They are great for lighting up my drive way when I'm backing in to the garage at night. I also have couple of load resistors to stop them from blinking on start up but didn't install them. My understanding is that load resistors get very hot and should be installed on metal and away from plastic. But I'm not sure if they get hot only when the light is on or they get hot even the light isn't on. If they get hot only when the light is on, shouldn't be a problem where you mount it since your reverse light is on for a short period of time... Can anyone comment whether they are always hot or they get hot only when the light is on? Thanks! |
