Amber corner disable

I have read that you can get the amber corners disabled when the headlights are on. But can't find a definite answer as to where? Any ideas?

It's not simply a setting or option or something you can do yourself. It needs to be professionally coded by someone with the cables and software to do it.

Technically the ambers corners are supposed to be lit by dot standards so it wouldn't be an option you can turn on or off yourself. But it can be coded like euro cars to be off. I will hopefully have mine coded off in a bit. It really looks silly eluminated constantly now that I have the euro lci headlights with the clear reflector.

You can code the ambers to be off while the DRLs are on but they still come on when the headlights come on.

Naw man you got it backwards. They are off when the daytime running lamps are on but when you turn the low beams on then the side ambers are lit also on USA models. European ones they are still off even when the low beams are on. They only light up for signaling on euro models.

I knew you couldn't do it on the car itself. But in my VW days you could just find someone locally with the right software and they disable stuff for you. Was wondering if that's possible for BMWs.

The answer on that is yes. Some companies can also code it remotely as well as they send you a data cable and then are able to do via internet connection. Will see in a couple days how well that works as I'm having the digital speedo coded this weekend remotely.

There's a thread on here somewhere of someone listing all the coding options they offer, and they may have been in Seattle actually. if I can find that I'll post it.

You have the right idea. You need to find someone around you (or someone to remote in to a laptop that you have set up with an OBD cable) who can "code" it for you. The term you're looking for is "coding", as in, "are there any coders around who can do amber delete".

It's not a long process- usually only takes a short amount of time. Just have to have the right software all set up.

checkout tripl3 coding the guys name is okee 'OK'

he did mine and it looks great. he also did the digital speedo, and a few other things like the dreaded seat belt chime. theres a billion annoying or custom things you can code in any new model car or bike
