dont get me wrong bud, i drove a z4 sdrive35is w/ DCT and it rocked and i loved it, but i think for a lot of people its a welcome move to have the 1M fitted with a 6 speed MT for now. for those who cant have MT or its not practical to drive stick, you have other choices...
can't wait to ED this bad boi next summer |

I'm almost positive there's nothing in that particular spot. I think the seam on the cover is giving that area more depth than there really is.

The other issue not mentioned yet is the availability of a convertible. With BMW limiting its production to 18 months, and no DCT, I forsee them not producing a convertible. This will make this car very much like the E30 M3 was, with only limited options available in a manual transmission 2 dr coupe.

No DCT and no convertible means it'll be easy to find one used I was looking for an E46 M3 at one point and all you find here in SoCal is convertibles with SMG...no thank you.

They have built a Cabrio prototype as well as using regular 135i cabrio with the same details as seen in the original 135i based 1M prototypes.
They are looking at it as per the Cabrio will be around to 2013 so BMW would like to prolong the car. And there are key markets for an M Cabrio. The 1M will be on display at the M Power Day @ Miramas next week, although you will not get to drive it or see anymore of what you have seen. |

for some reason im not impressed about this 1M. ive seen some great 135i that has similar power as the 1M on this site. The body looks similar as the 1 series except they changed the bumper and added quad exhaust.

Its obvious that this car was rushed to production and will be lacking certain options that everyone would like, but with the e92 M3 shelf parts to use, it's probably going to be one of the best "rush" projects possible. I think we should all be grateful that an M1 is being produced to begin with.
On a side note, I think that this car will publicly/unofficially be known as the M1 because of the logical naming in line with the 3,5,6 and people tend to be lazy and like things easy. Especially us Amerikans! |

And.. if M3 wheels fit.. all aftermarket M3 wheels will fit. If you ever looked, tirerack has nothing worth mentioning for the 135i. They have tons of nice wheels for the M3.
