Agreed. We are using bags from Takata AND Autoliv to do the recall (on Honda, I am sure other companies are the same) If Takata goes tits up, Autoliv will keep making them.

I got my letter yesterday. But they stated there is no ETA on when the service will be available due to parts.

Ever heard about getting blood out of a stone?

BMW or other makers can't replace with something that doesn't exist. Also there are others standing in line before BMW. Again, since you seem pretty dense, drive safely!

Bozo,

When considering how many new vehicles, all of which have multiple airbags, are manufactured each year, the number of additional airbags needed to fulfill these recalls constitutes a minor challenge to manufacturing capacity, especially if spread out over a year or a little more. If the demand for rubber dogshit were to explode for this year's Christmas season, you can be sure that someone will make it.

Dumbo boy:

You never fail to display your stupidity in every one of your drooling posts. The total recall for vehicles so far is in the millions and continues to grow. No one has the production capacity to fill this demand in any reasonable length of time.

Are you feeling lucky punk? If not, you had better park your car!

Can I now have the BMW technician disable my driver's side airbag? I will wear my seat belt at all times. I want to retire this car for the summer and drive my 128i.
