Cost Of Paint/Install Performance Rockers

Just got off the phone with my stealer. Performance rockers will cost $426, but the body shop they work with wants $950 to paint and install them. What are others who have done this upgrade seen for cost to install? I like them, but not for $1500.

I think Dan@United was using his dealer's body shop to paint the rockers for customers. From what I recall it was only a few hundred dollars. You might want to PM Dan.

Seems like a great deal. Crimson Red seems to be a rare color...

It takes less than 30 minutes per side to install. my total cost was 150 for paint, 250 for the parts, and an hour of time.

I would expect about 75-80 for paint per side. Install is a breeze to do yourself.

Did you notice a larger gap between the fenders/doors and the rocker panels than with the original rockers? I feel like when i installed mine the gap grew and i dont know how i feel about that.

I haven't noticed this- the product is a direct bolt-on with factory tolerances. It's possible it wasn't installed correctly- there is a bit of play with the part (about 1/8th''). You could always undo the pressure clips and try realigning before tapping it back down. Also, make sure the pressure clips on the front/rear sides are being used correctly- some of them can be a bitch to get the top skirt mount to pop into.

I think he was referring to the price and the color being rare separately. Mine are white, not red.

I feel like the fitment is not great in general. Which is disappointing since they are BMW parts.

That fitment looks pretty good from here. The stock ones look about the same fitment wise. Cant expect perfect gaps on a production car

Gap looks about the same as the poster above. Love these, think they look great. I'll add it to my list.

I dunno- the fitment looks pretty spot on.

For what it's worth, though, the little plastic clips that the sides snap into can be adjusted a bit if you want a more snug fit.

As a quality engineer for a luxury car company I disagree with that statement.

They are all the way up. I'm not impressed with the area at the door which you can see is slighly underflush and the point between the front fender and the side skirt which seems to be a bigger gap than everywhere else.

Hard to take a good picture in the garage with it up on stands. Sorry for that.
