VicRoads Prices Increase January 5

Not sure what the other States are doing, but in Victoria the RTA is set to increase their fees. So I just reserved new personalised plates for my car before the deadline to avoid $100 price increase, although car has not been delivered yet.
It appears to be a general $100 increase across the board. If your car is due to be delivered soon, it may be a good time to pre-order your plates before Monday to avoid the price rise.

Hmm.. just out of curiosity, where did you get this info?

one of my family member is planning to order one early next year, but if this is true, it might be worthwhile to preorder it like you did before the deadline.

Info directly from RTA, first by phone and then in person today. I immediately pre-ordered the plates. It will save you quite a few $$ if you organise personalised ones before Monday.

I have ordered mine for the 135i last weekend.

. It is not hard to work out what the number plate is .... :thumbup:

hmmm... should I order TAKA M3, TAKA M5, TAKA 35 (GTR), TAKA R8, TAKA (GT) 3, TAKA (GT) 2 .....

In NSW the custom plates have been $500 plus $30 ordering fee for some time now..

Yep and you can sell the plates too. Someone got the RX8 plate from VicRoads and want to sell it for $8000. You know what the response from the forum....
