Wow, that is sneaky.

But you could just be jumping on the brakes for some other reason. And don't they need a search warrant to search your car:iono:

Cant help write this lil stint about when i was in LA a few years back I was in love with the Mitsubishi Eclipse (not sold in Oz) with twin turbos and electronic boost control, the thing was quick - went for a test run with the owner as he was selling it and it was higly moded.

This thread made me think about that day where the dude had a concealed switch that turned of the brake lights off so that they dont light up when you pressed the break. I asked why have this and the response was that in California the cops do a similar thing if you are obviously speeding but no radar was involved and you hit the breaks they know you were looking out for speed traps or cops and must of consciously known you were speeding as well thats how they can get you in some cases.

I saw a Mercedes ML in the city last week that had a very poorly installed radar system. They had basically cracked the front grill where the radar sensor was. I guess they made it look it was car damage, but it was unmistakably a radar sensor....and the car had Vic rego.

I think it was John Singleton who got off a monster speeding fine in the 90's by having his legal eagle argue that his Bentley was safe to travel at those speeds due to its impeccable manufacturing.

Good luck trying that one though...
