Is this the ideal(one not recomended by BMW) oil to use in the N55?
I have forgot what to use (dont drive my car much).

You can get 5qts of Mobil 1 0-40 ll01 any day of the week for $25 at wal mart. That's my recommendation.

Yes and the castrol edge 5w30 is LL01 approved, and is the official bmw endorsed engine oil of choice!

I have only had mine a week do these things use oil? My tfsi audi engine sucked it like water.

It doesn't drink it too hard, unless you have leaking turbo seals.
