Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs

Just ordered a pair (255/35/18). For the rears only, keeping the stockies up front bc they got a good amount of tread left.

Anyone have experience w. this tire??

+1

You should really consider getting the 225/40 fronts to go with the rears.

That understeer is going to be much more pronounced. I ordered a full set a couple days ago, sizes 225/40/18 front and 245/40/18 rear. I know both sidewalls will be taller, especially the rear, but going with that rear size saved a good amount of money.

The positive side of your decision is this will kill your front RFTs much quicker, so you can pick up some star specs sooner!

yeaa. i like your thinking.

I know the fronts wont hold at all in a turn now, but as of now Im not running any track time so no turns. Just strait line pulls and digs (at an official licensed and registered drag strip of course). And with JB3 in now, and v1.22 in the mail I desperately NEED the traction.

Do ya'll think the 255's will hold up to a good launch?

They will make a "good" launch, but not an amazing, zero-slip launch.
I believe there was a thread talking about an autocross champ running a 135 w/ hoosiers, and it was an extremely noticeable difference between the hoosiers and star specs.

in tim-yoyo mode keeping traction with jb3 is tricky while launching (even with star specs)
