Does BMW do a PPK for N54?
If so any ideas how much for Var1 or Var2?

PPK1 sw + hardware upgrades (left front fender extra radiator cooler, HD radiator fan, new spark plugs) or PPK2 only sw flash.
PPK2 runs about anywhere from $700 to $1,200 plus one hour's labor at your dealer to download and install the sw. Most guys buy the PPK2 sw code on ebay or mail order and have a dealer install the code for one or two hours labor rate. Both PPK1 and PPK2 will net you 20 Hp.

Uh should have stated that I meant in Australia. I think its more like $2k for ppk1 and $3k for ppk 2. But maybe buying online is the go.

I had PPK1 installed just over a week ago on my N55, it is expensive at over 2k but i'm happy with the results and I wanted a tune that wouldn't void warranty.
Pretty sure PPk2 was over 5k!! I think with an N54 though there are many tried and tested options for you that will give you more power and cost a lot less. Last edited by Prodigy.; 06-21-2014 at 08:33 PM.. |

Thats fine n all but I figure if BMW do the tune and something goes wrong I have more chance of them fixing it than any $800 tune I bought from the US or a $450 2nd hand one I buy on here.

I had PPK1 installed for $500 (parts & labor/labour). I'm happy with it, but that is the upper limit of what it's worth. In terms of performance gain, this is what I saw: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=968588 If you're just interested in the additional cooling hardware, more information is available here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...8#post12190658 Karl.
