Mine does a little (JB4) if I've been giving it the beans for a little while and I downshift.

neither of them crackle or pop for me. (N54). 4 cats (in good condition) a resonator and muffler pretty much kill it all. will replace DP's next mod and see what happens. mind you i never had the car without either tune, so i cant compare to stock. |

Had the PPK and the PE installed on my N55. LOVE driving down my parking garage ramps now.......CRACKLE CRACKLE CRACKLE POP CRACKLE POP CRACKLE!!!!!! Setting off car alarms.
The PPK is what did this, adding the PE just made the one CRACKLE it used to make a little louder. The PPK is worth it just for the noise it makes. |

Well Darren, you can & have gotten this from me directly - but for the benefit of others:
The PPK definitely gave my N55 DCT a distinct burble on over-run that wasn't there before, I noticed it as soon as I drove out of the dealership. The PPK gives a nice smooth bump in performance that will also alleviate the hesitation problem that many N55 DCT owners experience, I don't know whether this is because of the accompanying software upgrade or the PPK flash itself? Based on my dyno results (Dyno Dynamics), the gains quoted by BMW are conservative. I think it is a great seamless upgrade but whether or not it is value for money is up to the individual. I think it is, but I had it discounted with no installation cost because the dealer screwed me around so much. They tried to install it a few times and when they finally did - they had my car overnight. And for those that recommend Cobb......they don't have a product for 2012 & 2013 models, so not an option here. |

Did have a BMW PE lined up for a while but i got screwed about with that so hopefully the extra noise from the PPK will do for the time being. Thanks for your input guys. |

For those interested i have had the PPK installed for just over a week now and must say so far i am very happy with the improvement in power and driveability over stock. Even the service engineer was surprised what a noticeable difference it made. It is expensive but i'm now much happier with how it drives so was worth it in my eyes. As for the exhaust note it does sound deeper imo, i have noticed a few extra crackles but not as much as i was hoping so an exhaust will definitely be still on the cards at some point. |

Listen to your exhaust while someone drives, I did today and it sounded excellent for a humble PPK, wish it sounded like that in the cabin.

So i did a few runs with my Gopro attached, i now take back what i said about the exhaust crackles, they are a lot more noticable from the outside that's for sure.
