'13 135i Rear Headrest Modification Clarification Question
Hi All,
Just need a quick clarification. I've read all the posts about the two methods for modding the rear headrests so they go all the way down. I want to do the post cutting method, but I've seen one person say to cut the outside posts (toward the outside of the car), and another person say to cut the posts nearest the buttons (toward the inside of the car). Does anyone have a conclusive answer as to which post to cut? Thanks! Dan Last edited by dtsol; 09-01-2016 at 04:32 AM.. |

I was going to link you to a thread but they took the pics down and there were too many words for me to read. Pull the seat and have a look or stick a screwdriver down there and see which hole it gets stuck in. Take you 1 minute for the screwdriver thing. I'd personally pull the seat and do it right which I am going to do when I do my interior swap.

Haha, me too. My headrests live in the trunk right now until I get around to doing the mod. I actually plan on making a cutout of the rollbar shape out of art board lined with the 3m dinoc that I lined my trim pieces with to cover that ugly hole that you can see the rollbar through. I may just leave the headrests out permanently as no one ever sits back there anyways.

As luck would have it while I was waiting on UPS to deliver a Smart top module I was scanning the forum, reading this post and my back seat was out so I took a picture. The answer is you have to cut the driver side post on BOTH headrest. They are not symmetrical.
