Unfortunately no update yet. We delivered my 1 to the paint shop on a flatbed when they requested it (early August). They have had my car for over a month now and as of 1.5 weeks ago very little was done to it.

They promised it would be done 2.5 weeks from then, so by the end of next week. It really sux, because there is still work that needs to be done; that could have been done but instead the car sits at the paint shop.

Ugh...

Thanks. Ha, no that's just primer or undercoat I think. Final color will be (or *should* be) stock SGM color.

Well from the quotes I didn't think that was going to be the case, but apparently. So now I'm wondering why changing the color was $3k to $4k more than this work? I would have loved to change the color to a nice dark Black Cherry Metallic (although, not BMW's version of BCM, it always has too much brown in it for me). I thought that would have really went well with my black wheels and carbon fiber roof, hood and other CF bits.

Oh well, SGM is very cool too. Either works. Its all good.

Looks like you are getting a quality job. It will look great.

To properly change color is more work.

EDIT* after looking at your photos, you practically are at a full job. So maybe it wouldn't have been too much more.

Thanks. It's finally starting to come together.

I would have loved for it to be all done so I could have taken off work this week and taken it to BMW CCA OktoberFest in NJ that is happening now since it is so close, but wasn't to be.

Seam sealer laid down. Sanded. Wet-sanded and prepped.

SGM Paint laid down.
